It's always fun to know that even after the hundreds of hours I've put into a game there's still more details to find out about it.
If you really want to have fun with those poison explosions, I recommend an SMG/AR with double tier 5 Pyro mods. There are some Iconics that are essentially the same thing, Shingen Mark V and Psalm 11:6 being notable.
I had not though to account for an issue like "dying too fast to explode"
In that case I suppose I may as well go physical damage for this V and leave thermal for whoever comes next (I've already had fun with electric and chemical between the first two).
Guns wise I fully planned to go all in on Smart, as I haven't really had a proper go with them so I did already have my eye on an iconic or two that came with explosions, as I already know that can set things afire (thanks to the Firecracker). So the Shingen Mark V is now even higher on my shopping list than it was before
Contagion + Shingen Mark V is stupidly powerful. If you want to go more in with the quickhacks, the deck that changes the contagion jumps to immediate spread would allow for quicker and simultaneous explosions. If you want to focus more on the smart guns aspect, the Paraline + Overclock will break the game over it's knee like Bane.
Haven't figured this bit out yet, luckily I still have time before the current V is done (she's about two thirds of the way though) to figure that out. You make good arguments for both.
If the idea is disabling the enemy, Reboot Optics would be better. Would do what Cripple Movement does to melee, but to everybody, without the other benefits though.
I wish the combat was hard enough to make things like the non-damage quickhacks more than just gimmicks.
Now however a number of good arguments have been made such that I'm glad I have time to mull it over before starting this new V.
Another question. Am I correct that melee doesn't work on headshots, but does work on vulnerability analytics weakspots?
