Rofl, the cop AI in this game is hilariously bad

Just wanted to describe a situation I just had with the random street crime encounters. I'm driving along, minding my own business, actually relatively slow because I was needing to turn and there were a lot of cars, so I had to drop down to legal speed range, when suddenly a gang on gang car chase, complete with open firearms display on a public street, shows up. 4 dudes, from maelstrom and some other gang, smashing into cars, smashing into pedestrians, shooting up the place.....cop on the sidewalk does literally NOTHING. I stop, toss a few Synapse Burnouts at the 4 guys, and quickly, and cleanly neutralize the situation. Then what happens? I see the driver of one of the gangbanger cars has tier 5 loot, so I open the door to drag him out, thus "carjacking". NOW suddenly the cop is in Shoot To Kill mode, and I'm suddenly at 1 Cop Star of threat. Way to go NCPD! *golfclap*

The AI for the cops is really weird and plain stupid.
I’m currently playing the game on Very Hard difficulty for my second playthrough. At one point, I was being chased by some Maelstrom thugs but managed to escape from them However, when I reached Lizzie’s Bar, I noticed the Maelstrom gang members were standing there alongside with the police.

So smart as i‘m walked towards them, to provoke the maelstorm to attack me, thinking the police would intervene But what happened next left me speechless.

As soon The Maelstrom guys opened fire on me while I was hiding behind the police car literaly doing nothing i got a wanted star, and the police started shooting at me too! WTF??

Yes... that's what I experienced too.

That stupid police behavior is fixed with this mod.
