Phantom Liberty question
I started the phantom liberty and saw I have to follow the path with no way of turning back or else the whole DLC becomes a failed quest. If I start the DLC to I have to finish my playthrough?
Is it like a point of no return?

No, you do have to finish the first stage of the story (getting a certain person to a somewhat safe location), but after that you can just do your own thing. The next stages will be available as normal quests in your journal so you can do them when you feel like it. And you can go back to Night City without problems and such (you should get a sort of pass for the Dogtown gates so you can enter and leave when you want).

The first time I played with PL I had that certain person parked in a certain location in Dogtown for a very long time before I continued the PL story.

Thanks for the quick reply.
If you don't mind me asking one more thing, and to other readers this might be a spoiler,
I read that choosing the ending where you survive gets rid of all your cyberware, basically preventing you from playing normally in the end. Do you know if there's a way to keep the cyberware?
I feel like no matter what ending I choose I can't continue playing roaming the map like in GTA, I have to reload beforehand.

The "no turning back" bit is only for a while, long enough for you to know who all the major players are and some key locations. It's basically Dogtown's version of the Chip Heist which opened up the rest of the city.
Once that's over you can come and go from Dogtown, and the quests within, as you like same as any other part of the city.

Whenever you get your first chance don't forget to visit every, single, store in Dogtown as they all sell a little one time only purchase you'd likely want to buy.

I did a reload out of fear I won't have the chance OR miss some other quests by starting the DLC, I'll probably give it another go. Thanks for the response.
Also, besides the shops, the areas you will most likely visit once during the big starter quest, do you know if there's anything you can only gather once? like the heist iconic weapons and such?

I haven't done enough of the endings to be completely certain, but I don't think you can legitimately (I know you can glitch out of the area in the Sun ending, for example, which sort of lets you play on, but it seems like a lot of stuff won't work, so I doubt it's any fun).

Maybe someone else has a more certain answer.

There is a vendor in Dogtown that sells iconic weapons that you've missed in previous content. They're expensive, but if there is a specific weapon you want and you missed it due to choices in quests, or just not noticing, you can still acquire them that way.

Literally the first Dogtown store you will find yourself facing after getting out the other end of the bit you reloaded on (and about a third of the way though it) is a store that sells all the iconics you missed out on so far. If you miss any more that you can't go back to find, they will also turn up here.

As I alluded to to earlier, all the stores sell some type of one time only item that gives your V a permanent, if minor, boost (stamina, RAM, etc).
A lot of them also sell "food items" that give powerful boosts to various things (health, crit, stealth, etc) but also all come with some sort of negative tradeoff. They are typically more worth using than not, depending on playstyle.

Wait that raises two questions:

If I buy them, will that remove them from the original means of obtaining them?
and should I save that vendor for after I do the point of no return which strips you naked of all items?

In the order you asked them.

1) Probably....? Typically all the items you can find in there are the sort you can't get access to after the first chance you had is already gone. If it's still out there in the world for you to be able to get yourself, then it's unlikely to be in his stock.

2) Wat? I feel like you don't quite understand what a "point of no return" is :steamfacepalm:. When you're three steps away from the end credits you don't really get to go shopping again :steamhappy:.
Point is. There's no point waiting if he has something you want, or just grab all of it to say you have it. It's also worth noting that as the game goes on it's worth checking back on him as he may have new stock depending on what you get up to.
