Found this cool Cyberpunk quote.
Neo Tribes, a Cyberpunk sourcebook, 1995

"It is now accepted among historical scholars that in the decades before the Collapse, America suffered from the sickness of racism and "cultural identity." Everyone wanted to be seen as special. Every group had to be "equal" or preferably better than its neighbors, and fought to protect its "special" rights. If anyone had something that someone else wanted, they were painted as racist, sexist, elitist, or worse. This divisive "me first" attitude eventually tore the fabric of American culture apart and caused it to self-destruct in a fireball of competing ideologies none of which truly recognized each other's validity. Diversity led inexorably to anarchy."

Unless if you have something add yourself, this is just a random, arbitrary quote you plucked from an official text with no further explanation or exposition. As my old English teachers from high school would oft write, in red, on my submitted papers,

”Elaborate.”

If you’re just sharing a random quote you like simply for the sake of it, well anyone can do that:

“If only, if only,” the woodpecker sighs,
“The bark on the tree was as soft as the skies.”
” - Louis Sachar, Holes (1998).

Well, this is headed into Real World Politics, so probably going to lock it unless we stick to in-game setting stuff.

As Omen3608 mentions further down the thread, this is not an anti-diversity rant.

"Their shared ideals and common hardships have made the nomads form a unique culture, one secure enough to allow differences and variety to keep it strong.
Among the Seven Nations there are several distinct cultures, and knowing them is important for any who intend to deal with them face-to-face."

The OP's quoted passage isn't about hammering those who are pro-diversity, it's about being united -while- being diverse. There are Seven Nations in the nomad USA and they are, yes, quite diverse. And respectful of those differences.

Lastly, from the intro by Ross Win:

"Nomads are as diverse as America; every bit as terrible and every bit as great. In this book I have labored to illuminate the good in them, as I believe we should try to see the good in all of us."
