Blurry / shimmering foliage
Is there any way to fix this? I know that turning ambient occlusion off does fix it but it also makes the game look terrible... im on a 6700xt so raytracing is not an option

What settings are you using? Are you using FSR? Blurry foliage is normal in most any game due to how TAA is used to remove aliasing. Shimmering is a result of aliasing aswell using poorly rendered effects to make the scene look better. Reduce FSR sharpening and any sharpening filters you have active to try and fix it but it will always exist at lower resolutions (especially with FSR). The reason AO "fixes it" is because it adds contrasts so you notice it more. Only real fix is high resolutions (4k and above) and developers not faking effects and using TAA to hide it.

Disable upscale in game settings.
Lower resolution
Use super resolution in graphic driver (good FSR).

I have FSR off and playing at 1920x1080, turning image sharpening up in AMD settings made it significantly better but still noticable when out in the desert.

Sharpening up will reduce blur but will make shimmering more visible.
Real solution is to increase resolution.
