Aaaand it might not: I've got an optical keyboard with soft linear switches... the tiniest bit of pressure from my finger just resting on the key can activate it... So my fix was to take my hand off the keyboard while sniping.
In found out what's happening.
Double tap dash.
I have already turned off dashing by double tapping movement keys. HOWEVER, any action that would be performed by dashing, like vaulting, still occur if that input is used.
Every time I used WASD to inch a bit closer, I may not have dashed, but I did "dash" over the railing.
TL:DR
CD Project Red once again shows their usual level of competence, by only letting you disable the actual dashing and not the input for dashing.
