What happened to V's Voice Actress in Phantom Liberty?

Sounds like she might've had covid at the time or the sound mixing is completely off

She was by far the better voice in the base game, but sounds like a completely different voice actress in PL.

I immediately noticed the sound issues in the first Songbird call, it's jarring the difference in quiality.

Go and do some of the dog town missions then go to the aldecaldos camp and talk to panam about dog town... then you see bad audio... I mean what happend there?

I thought I was imagining things at first. Her performance sounded phoned in compared to the base game. Male V still sounds the same though.

I noticed this too. Sounds like they couldn't get the voice actor so they used AI.

She was not better at all. Male V talked and reacted how any normal human being in given situation would react, female V talks and reacts like angry teen who could't got to Biebers concert. We all know why most people play with female V so lets stop pretending like it have anything to do with voices

On the German VA side all sound like they should BUT for some reason they where recorded with like 150% gain, like they're all peaking when they talk.

I play with female V and I like her voice.
Why I who are male, play a female V you may ask.
Think the reason simply is that she fits my version of V, as a innocent looking, killing machine.

go watch an interview with her and you'll see how she normally sounds :P

the only voice that was different was Milogost Reczek (Victor Vector) in the polish dub of the game as the actor died and CDPR used AI to recreate his voice.

Mr. Hands is different too, as he was recast for Phantom Liberty.

to me it sounds like a metallic sound is quite dominant, can happen when sound files are compressed too much

in one of the gigs in dogtown, where you take drugs and become the dlc villain, i had half the dialogue switch to the male V va when i was the female V va. Then it returned to female V va. was very jarring

I'm doing some of the endings now and it does sound like my female V has a cold at some points

I play as female V cuz her voice acting was better than male v in the base game to me phantom Liberty is just a bonus so it's not that big a deal

I'm guessing it's a mixing issue aswell. It could honestly be something as simple as they used a different studio this time, and it's a different Mic setup. It can be the little things like that sometimes.

Audio levels are also off sometimes, especially Songbird can be hard to hear over ambient sounds at points, enough so that i opted to turn captions on when playing PL, which i didn't feel the need to before.
