Question about the new ending
I haven't tried the new Phantom Liberty ending yet, but I finished the DLC siding with Reed. Anyway, I notice that going to the roof and calling is available immediately... so, am I just able to end the story whenever I feel like it? Does this mean completely skipping Arasaka and the fight with Smasher?

Yes it is one of the endings, i.e. you will never go to Arasaka tower. You can relad if you wnat after.

Do you get any items from it like the other endings or is it kinda just pointless?

If the story of a game like Cyberpunk is pointless to you then yeah, it would be a total waste of time for you to call Reed. :P

You should get a 'point of no return' warning. If you continue then you're locked into that ending. Yes there is a reward but I'm not going to spoil it. I like to think that the 'rewards' are Silverhand's final snark at you.

Just go to the roof, call Reed an watch your heart bursts into a million pieces. And then my friend get a depression and feel empty for the next week. At least.

man i hate this ending. It just feels so wrong from the moment Jonny starting hating on you and then your bf/gf ditches you.. oof you just know it's not canon. After all De Shaun was right - you either die legend or NPC in NC. And V doesn't fit being an NPC, not after being on top of a food chain crushing armies of top tier soldiers, saving president etc.

It will be hard to play CP again knowing that only Reed and Victor (...and mabe Misty) are your/V true friends.

via the new ending you don't get put back in the world in front if the hinako meeting to continue playing like you do with the other endings.
this is due to how the ending unfolds itself. it doesn't make sense to let you continue to play after the new ending.

just make a save before going to the rooftop and have at it. no harm in doing the new ending to see what its about then just loading your save to continue other stuff :)
