The Voodoo Boys Question
SPOILERS TO FOLLOW, TREAD WITH CAUTION

That being said, I find the most egregious portion of the game being V getting absolutely used and abused by the VD boys, and then just taking his lumps and quietly slinking away. First, Picadilly or whatever his name is straight up tries to fry you when you SAVE HIS BOSS and all you can do is slug him, but if I was in full control, he'd be on the business end of a power shotgun. Then the Voodoo lady betrays you once you're in the Net. You wake up in the basement and have no recourse to find these people and murder them back, and Picrelated even sends you threatening text messages! I just find it so odd that they let you get totally worked over by these Creoles and then just assume you'll have no desire to revenge yourself upon them.

When it happened to me the first time, lets just say the VD boys street presence diminished very rapidly. Hacked em up, cartel style. No one tries to kill me and gets away with it.

You clearly took a wrong turn. I was able to draw my weapon as a dialogue option and soak that church in Voodoo Boy blood.

In the end of this quest i killed all of them, except the boss, she died or was killed in the net.

Just take the deal from Netwatch... problem solved.

Ah yes I remember but I couldn't pass the strength check.

But yes this entire section of the game is horrible. Also the pacifica cyberripper tells you he only serves "his" people, I wonder if it says the same with a V with black phenotype but it's pissing me off that black racism is tolerated and white racism censored with zeal.
If it makes you feel any better I kill any Voodoo Boy affiliated hoodlums on sight.

Side with Netwatch. Even the talking tumor likes this outcome...

yeah one of the lore piece you pick up basicly said no one out side pacifica has worked for voodoo boys and come out alive, they always burns their own mercs

you find records in the game, through which you learn that the voodoo ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ always kill all the mercenaries (fry their brains), they say because you can't trust them, but actually it's because they just don't want to pay them, it says in the found records.

so always work with netwatch, you also learn that the VB are expecting a war between mankind and the AI, and are already on the side of the AI and want to work for them, that is, want to help destroy mankind, according to the motto "the main thing is that we survive".
Nope Oct 12, 2023 @ 10:34am
Either take Netwatch deal which is lesser evil path of both
Or side with Voodoo so you can kill everyone, violate their entire church in their god’s name

I'd rather side with the AIs than corpos like Netwatch.

The game actually gives you a good few opportunities to stick it to them. If you let the Netrunner in the mall talk he'll make you an alternative deal which results in the frying of the Voodoos, and you very clearly have an opportunity to choose revenge against them with dialogue when the quest is finished, Johnny even suggests you take this path as he sounds as pissed as you rightfully are.

The AI's are just as bad if not worse than Corpos. One day people are going to see there are no good options.

Huh! I had no idea. I'll have to pay closer attention.
Those sumbitches are going down.

There's more to it than just netwatch or Voodoo's tho.

Yes, if you side with the netboi, Alt fries the lot of them to be on the safe side. (can't say I blame her, considering how netwatch has been hunting her digital arse for nearly 5 decades)

If you side with the Voodoo's, you can just walk away while giving Mamon Brigitte a tiny bit of snark (just don't go too far, of you will get into a fight)
My main V does that. Not because they are right, but to prove to Alt that V can be trusted. (Alt made a bargain, so V's sticking to it) and while I personally know that the moment they get what they wanted, they will send gangoons after V's arse to flatline you on the principle that V is still just a 'ranyon- a floor-rag' to them... My main V is still a little naive about working with them.

Or you can just snark up Brigitte and ghost the whole upper heirachy.
And get Placide's coat. Tho it looked less badarse on a femV than on a guyV (different mesh iirc)

But, the best part about walking away is....you don't have to do anything.

If you go to Pacifica before a certain quest with Judy happens (a holocall...you will know which one I think) you can get a quest to fix the rollercoaster.
(You can fix it later, but its only a visible quest before that one Judy event, vanishes after, unless 2.0 changed it)

There are a couple of chilled out locals sitting there at the coaster, talking about getting it fixed. They will talk to you, all three lifepaths get a line here for a change.
Once you fix it, you can ride the coaster with Johnny (one of my fave moments tbh)
If you did this quest, then come back later after walking out peacefully...

Well, the last guy sitting there has some....interesting rumours about things.
Boils down to the fact that no ones seen the higher ups or netrunners for a while.
Church is still open, but the back door to their den is closed.

Looks like they got what they wanted..... Just not the WAY they wanted....lol.
And all sorts of talk is going round Pacifica... Many folks are getting devout all of a sudden.

When i went through this section the first time i had no hesitation in taking the option to fight them all. I did it and it felt pretty freaking good. No way i was going to let them off the hook after they tried to fry my brains out.
