Eh, fair point.
Just wished the perks would do more than just "you can lock faster".
Going for a ninja netrunner kind of build. This one is more stealth focused but I may switch from stealth to adrenalin rush instead depending on how it plays out during the game. I usually don't enjoy stealth much but I'll see how it feels first and then decide as I gain levels.
The new perks make up for many weaknesses of smart weapons like time to kill (faster projectile speed and lock-on) and preventing loss of lock-on. They are an okay ranged weapon type for folks who are not into the whole FPS gameplay as much as other aspects of the game. But sure, they aren't very good without high investment on Int and thus their use is kinda glued together with netrunning/quickhacks.
It will be fun, but for now I'm trying out different options in the skill tree.
If you go netrunner style probably the monowire is a better choice than mantis blades. I just love how you can upload and spread hacks with the Relic perk with Phantom Liberty, but TBH I'm still mostly avoiding melee and killing from range with hacks, smart weapons and a silenced pistol if possible.
