For 2.0 and Phantom Liberty: Please! Fresh install and save.
No, this is not Official CDPR Instructions. This is, however, a serious suggestion from someone who sees a lot of issues every patch. These are going to be -big- patches. So.

A) 2.0 and Phantom Liberty will nearly certainly break your mods, certainly any complex ones. Most will be updated quickly but until they are, run a clean, unmodded game if you want to reduce issues.

B) A lot of said issues are going to be pre-resolved with a completely fresh install (if you have the bandwidth) and new game, new save, the lot.

2.0 changes many, many things. A fresh, clean install and, preferably, a wonderful new clean save is a great way to see them all from the very beginning. And reduce your launch day stress.

This is the way. Especially since many of the new features are gonna make MANY mods redundant or outright useless.

It would be much more convenient for everyone if you initially integrated the functionality of such basic mods into the game as:

Always First Equip-2557-1-11-1-1685360260
Breast Jiggle Physics-3339-1-0
Disable Vignette-5499-1-0
Driver NC-5345-1-03
Hide Read Shards-2820-0-3
Immersive Bartenders-7203-1-1-3-1680045394
Immersive First Person-2675-1-3-1-1687454133
Inventory Zoom-4776-1-1
Metro System-3560-1-81-1678145024
Night City Interactions-5519-0-5-0-1687306432
No Walk Auto Disable-3966-1-0
Panam Romance for Female V-2782-0-1-31-1
Ragdoll Physics Overhaul-3858-1-2
Stash Filters-5298-1-0-0
System-EX-3158-1-1-0-1689450863
Track What You Want-4110-1-0
Underwear removal extended-4605-1-7-2-1691833950
Unequip Mods-2358-1-6

I'm always, ALWAYS, for the vanilla game. And for the first time I played the game in its original form, but this small list of mods makes our life in Night City much easier.
Especially breast physics. Well, and a normal driving too, of course. :dexter:

Looking forward to the release of the add-on!

Good advice.

As somebody with a DSL connection, I'd rather not uninstall and redownload as it would take approximately 88 years. :D: At least I'm playing without mods, so there's that.

Thanks for the advice though.

And fair enough. Updated the post.
Will I need to start new game after next update in a weak or so?
Or should I just wait?

I'm under the impression that while you can still use an original save, it is advised to start new. You probably don't need to, however.
Crimsomrider Sep 4, 2023 @ 5:57pm
You don't need to, but it is advised to do so otherwise you're risking the drastic changes, reworks and removal of existing code to destabilize the saves in unpredictable ways which then may cause some very weird and even gamebreaking bugs that nobody else has.

This has been the case with every major content update so far because the changes are simply too drastic for saves to remain fully stable, which is why you see plenty of people having some weird never-before-seen issues by using older saves from 2020/2021.

Personally I am waiting myself before I fully commit to another playthrough.

I do not use mods. So I will do new install but keep my saves.

Sorry, no Cyberpunk without Autoloot or Hotkeymod. Its just unplayable for me.

"new game, new save, the lot."

Lol what? I'm not going a whole new playthrough just to get to the DLC....

Then you'll miss out of some of the features and only will see the difference during the DLC Phantom Liberty expansion, which is fine, it's not like you're required to redo the entire game for it to unlock or something.

I feel the same way about my increased rain, proactive netrunners and levelled enemies mods. Just wait a bit and they'll patch them up to current. Or in the case of enemy netrunners, might not even have to...

Everybody has their own list of 'essential' mods...I don't think that at this late date, we're going to see a lot of mod integration.

Personally, I'm prepared to do a complete fresh install if necessary...but I'm going to see if my REDmod mods and simple archive mods still work after the big update. Every complex mod with dependencies on CET, RED4ext, redscript, ArchiveXL, TweakXL, etc. will certainly be broken at least for a while.

The Mod Remover .bat file on Nexusmods will scrap and backup every mod on your game... (https://www.nexusmods.com/cyberpunk2077/mods/8597) You might want to read the description for this mod, just to get an understanding of how mods can affect your game setup.

Of course a complete deletion of the game ON YOUR SYSTEM, not just Steam or wherever, is the nuclear option.
