Phantom Liberty progression a little weird?

ok idk if it's the DLC or it's me just being dumb. I just started the DLC, have maybe 30-60 minutes time invested, and my last mission was for mr. hands or someone, and now I'm standing outside the Heavy hearts pyramid club and have no idea or indication where to go next. My journal shows the base game end mission "meet hanako at embers" icon, but I see no jobs or gigs or anything else in Dogtown or tips where to go next. I've also checked all my emails and messages too.

Was expecting a little more action and fluidity with PL after just finishing the rush that the base game was.

I appreciate any tips on how to continue the DLC story, as I literally see no mission to indicate what to do next.

Should have missions to wait for calls. Should also see some gig markers on the map for Mr Hands.

Hm, yes, you should always have a main quest (sometimes with a waiting period in PL after meeting Reed) in DT and when you are set free in DT for the first time there's....3-4 gigs from Hands, 3 hidden objectives (three little skulls, shows up when you are close to the location) and you should see a blinking steering wheel for the car jobs.

There's also two yellow marked side jobs, one for the boxer and one for the Barghest kids.

It's been well over 100 hours since I've finished PL, so my memory is a little fuzzy, but if I recall well, there were times I had to actually wait for more missions to spring up randomly.

Some would pop up after exploring Dogtown and running into certain key characters throughout the stacks.
I'd then get a random call from Hands or Reeds. It's like the devs wanted to give you time to freely explore before having to jump into another mission.

I just went back and replayed from an older save to see if maybe it was a bug or something. I also disabled all mods to make sure nothing is interfering or messing something up. I got up to the point where I have to go meet Hasan in Dogtown where he thanks me for helping him and gives me an iconic pistol called Ambition, and again after this mission is over, there's nothing. No mission or gig or phone call or anything on where to go next. I even tried sleeping a day at my apartment to see if I have to pass some time.

LOL not yet. I guess I have to do more exploring in dog town then?

Even a little message saying "explore dogtown" would have been great. Anything other than just nothing. Very strange.

Trying to find a mission to do is in itself the mission

Lets go over chronologically. First you go to save the president. You do the stuff with her, until she tasks with finding Reed. This is the moment you actually get to roam freely for the first time in Dogtown. You have 4 available gigs from Hands in Dogtown ( one in Pacifica to be exact. After you recruit Reed, you all have a chit chat with miss president. Then he tells you HE WILL CALL IN A FEW DAYS. I suggest you do the gigs from Hands as it will not be possible to progress the main quest in PL unless you do the 5 gigs that are currently available for Hands. Completing the gigs for Hands will not make Reed call you, he will call eventually regardless, but for future main quest missions you will need to do the 5 starting gigs for Hands. As I am trying to avoid spoiling as much as possible, tell me where exactly you are after reading my small essay. Have you finished what I have explained previously?

Yup, I've done the first 5 jobs for Hands, here's a pic. You can see the only mission on the map that shows up is the final Embers mission. Even in my journal, no new jobs or gigs show up. I've also tried sleep and skipping time ahead for days but nothing happens. tried driving around dogtown looking for jobs, I just see some Barghest gangs here and there but no jobs to do. I basically got up to the mission where I have to go meet Hasan by the docks, he thanks me for helping him and gifts me an iconic pistol, and after that, nothing. I've just been driving around all day looking for something to do or trigger the story to continue.

Okay, what was the last mission you did ( main mission in PL ) ? Would it possible for a screen of your journal ?

Ok I went back to the last main PL mission that showed up on the map and in my journal and it was the "Go your own way". Here's a screenshot of me at the mission location, right outside Hasan's place where I go in and he thanks me and gives me the pistol

No, I meant main quest. Hassan is a side quest/gig. Just a general question, did you actually do the quest to save NUSA president or did you just ignore it to do w/e you want do to? Because if you skipped it , a lot of content is locked out.

Pretty sure I did. I didn't think it was something we could avoid. Any way to confirm that I did indeed do it? I can check the mission name to see if it's completed

I think the first quest is " Dog eat dog ". That is when Somi calls you to enlist to save the president. The next one is " Hole in the sky " .
