Any way to stop the update?
It's queued up but I can I stop it? can I at least roll it back like BG3?

How to skip update 2.13 and stay in 2.12a version!
Guys, please tell me how to play (actually play) Cyberpunk 2077 in the old version 2.12a without updating to the latest version. I used to set the file manifest checkbox to read-only, but now the game just keeps trying to update and I cannot play it. None of the resources on the internet have helped me. I have done everything according to the instructions, but none of them say how to play after that. Steam won't let me run the game without updating!

UPD.

OK, I fix this:
1. Download this manifest: nexusmods (dot) com/cyberpunk2077/mods/16602
2. "Download" fake update in Steam (file writing error at the very end)
3. Uncheck "read-only" flag in manifest file
4. Steam fake updated well done
5. Turn back "read-only" flag in manifest file
6. Play in 2.12 version with cloud saves with achievements :judy: :evelyn2077:

Reposting this method which was originally posted by Andrew:

:arasaka:Restore back to 2.12a:arasaka:

With your web browser, enter this address: steam://nav/console

Console tab appears within Steam.

First line is the base game
Second line is Phantom Liberty

On Console command, enter:
1. download_depot 1091500 1091501 3807385820978085162
2. download_depot 2138330 2138330 5094071097429923087

Files appear in:
..\steam\steamapps\content\app_1091500\depot_1091501\
..\steam\steamapps\content\app_2138330\depot_2138330\

Dump contents into and overwrite/replace all:
..\steam\steamapps\common\cyberpunk 2077\

------------------------

Confirmed to work by multiple users.
I hope this helps you too, Lana. :moxes:

I'm aware of all that, but I don't require this method because I already have the game version 2.12a. Could you please advise on how to run the game after all these manipulations? I'm unsure of the steps to take. Should I disable online in Steam? Or should I run the game from the EXE file? However, I require both online and cloud saves with achievements :judy:

Damn, sorry about that. I see what you're saying. I hope someone can come in and chime in to clarify. I don't want to misdirect you, but I've read people are running the game from the exe file and no Steam to prevent the game from trying to update.
You can run the game offline from Steam too.

Here for the help Nar! helped me to to revert back and now i tested it.
D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Cyberpunk 2077\bin\x64
And dont forget to change Cyberpunk update setting dont allow it only manually and no background update .

Start it from your bin x64 you can stay online on steam it wont update and mods are activated i had. cheers
Make a Shortcut from that bin/x64 Cyberpunk.exe to the desktop if you want.
If you want frame gen just use Lossless Scaling much better btw.

Disabling auto update
How do I disable auto updates
Game updated when I turned off my computer when I didnt want it to (because mods)
its to late now but for the future what do I do?

option to disable updates is not available for me only "always, on launch and high priority" options are available. I caught and paused the update when it was at 45% downloaded, can I still somehow block it so I can play today and update game in a few days when mods get updated? this sucks I barely got started on a 200+ mod playthrough

I played through vortex and it worked but I dont know how it would work after you have some downloaded and I am not going to play for sure because mine downloaded and I have seen saves get ruined from the new update with mods
I would play it safe my friend

I launched the game directly from the .exe and it started right up with mods working while on steam update stays paused at 45%.

- Properties
- Updates
- Look for app ID and write it down
- go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps
- look for app ID
- Right click
- Properties
- Attributes
- Click read-only -> you'll see a check
- Apply
- OK

Your game will no longer be able to be updated. To undo the read-only status, simply un-check read-only, apply, and hit OK, and then verify game files.

once a game knows there is a update steam forces the update. You can only roll back if the devs have separate build on the steam servers. Having a 2nd build or more may require money the devs may not want to provide.
