Can't control radio stations in car

I pre-ordered this game, played it an hour at launch and never looked at this game again until now.
As like I always do when playing games like this, I always try to do as much side mission and everything else before jumping into the main missions.
In the beginning of the game you let you borrow your car, so you are left without one.
While doing some other stuff, I found a car, got in, but I couldn't control the radio, the option is greyed out, like you don't have access to it.
Do I have to own the vehicle to change the radio? or do I have to progress into the main story a bit more to be able to change radio channels?
It can't be intended that I have to use the pocket radio to change channels (as that seems to work, but yeah, have to exit my car every time for that, so yeah, a bit stupid)

you don't have to progress in the game to be able to change radio stations, no.

i've 'borrowed' bike and cars from the gonks that tried to kill me (mostly Tyger Claws lol) right from the beginning and never had that issue...

are you meaning the point where you let Jackie borrow your car? (to go meet up with Misty)

are you telling me you did not go up the elevator to your apartment, but went outside into Watson?
(if so, that might be the issue, since you are meant to go to bed, wake up in the morning, go get your cyberware)

have you progressed now to that point? in which case, your car is where you left it, across the road from the side entrance to Vik's place.
you can call your vehicle and it will drive/appear near you.

unless, its in the shop because of act2 (beep beep- crash)
in which case, you can use the Metro to get to the Glen, go talk with Mama Wells.
(unless you chose 'to Vik' in the back of the Delamain... in which case i think you just need to spend 24hrs in game time and then check outside your apartment for a box. if thats the case, just sleep for a full 24hrs or wander about Watcson and clear a few NCPD points or do a couple gigs for Regina)

also, you are not using mods, are you?

I did went to my appartment after letting Jackie borrow my car. After sleeping I went in the world doing my stuff, ignoring Jackie that is waiting for me.

as you can see on this screenshot, the button 'R' to control the radio is disabled :(

that's perfectly fine. i always leave him there, sneak out back of Vik's.
go do the NCPD points to make money. (no call from Regina about the psycho's, they wont pop into the world that way ether)

Jackie is sat at the noodle stand, slurping his breakfast up, right?

you NEED to do that part of the tutorial.
you wont get your car keycard (keys) back from him if you have not sat at the noodle stand and talked with him

yep, and there is no vehicle button ether.
you haven't got your carkeys back from Jackie, you gonk :P

go back to Jackie at the bottom of the H10 and talk with him. he will give you a car keycard that is your car keys. it calls your vehicle to you when to hit the button, and thus, allows you to call your car/cars to you.
it also allows you to buy cars via AutoTrader.

that's probably whats causing your issue

didn't care much about getting my keys back, just wanted control over the music.

he's going to 'suggest' you drive to Vik's. thats also part of the tutorial.
it's not far tho.
when you get there and go thru to talk to Vik, you get your cyberware.
then, you can hop out the side/back way and NOT talk to jackie in Misty's to get free roam of Watson.
you can do jobs for Regina, but by not talking to Jackie, the cyberpsycho's wont pop up (no call from Regina) which means you won't accidentally stumble into them at too low a level (player and gear wise)

also, did you come down the garage elevator?
if you did, you missed the boxing tutorial and your free pistol (Dying Night) from Wilson's
the boxing tutorial unlocks the boxing fights so if you want to do those, you need to go back and talk to Coach and fight his little boxing bot (it's one time for the bot, so don't worry)

you can do all of Regina's quests in Watson, all the NCPD points and any side quests in Watson without progressing the main questline (the heist) and THEN go back to Jackie (and pay Vik what you owe him) and then carry on if you want.

You have to see Vick and talk to Jackie first, since V is sick after saving Sandra. When you get the quest that says to meet with Dex, then you can ignore that and go off on your own.

Did the boxing and got the free gun yesterday already, but thanks again.
Back into ignoring mainstory and doing all the rest.
