This would be a great strategy for keep CP77 'alive' for the next 4-5 years or so.
Hey, I could be wrong...probably am.
There's stuff which has been datamined, on top of what devs have said themselves, but can't talk about that on here. In any case, they were largely things which were either dropped to do something else instead (eg one main storyline through the game got totally changed fairly late on) or dropped so resources could be used on something else (eg the initial experiments with a mass transit system the player could use).
Whatever you think might be hidden there, it's very unlikely CDPR are going to be returning to this game now.
Not so "clearly" given that....it wasn't.
And, no. They're done with CP2077.
So, don't fret. Cut content now doesn't mean cut content forever.
Even if it was playable, forcing the player to play through these generic gigs with Jackie would massively bloat the prologue, which some people already complain that it’s too long and can’t be skipped.
Every game has cut content. This game is no different. It goes without saying that not every idea or concept that gets put forth will make it into the final retail product. It’s just a fact that you have to accept (not like anyone has a choice anyway).
But, the problem is that these mods have been released 2 years ago and have never been updated since then.
A shame because they really added some interesting details to the general atmosphere.
Or, ya know, they just made a cutscene.
I guess by the same logic there are huge cut parts of all games ever made with cutscenes, ever, due to rushed development.
There was a mod which kind of put wall running back into the game - if that's what you mean (maybe it got improved from a proof of concept but maybe not from what you say).
Thing to that though is that wall running was ditched as an idea because it caused so many problems with what they were trying to do with level design and the open world (that's according to Miles Tost who was doing the level design). Which is part and parcel of game dev - no-one goes chasing after the Mass Effect Andromeda planet procedural generation, for instance. (They ditched that because it frequently didn't work and produced dross when it did.)
for example, you know when you wait with Jacky to take out the 2 scavs talking during the sandra dorsett mission ?
Actually these 2 scavs where not only talking in the E3 but they were pushing a man's scavenged body on a weehlchair.
This passage has been restored and is still available on nexusmods, but since it has not been update, it doesn't work anymore.
