Car Races?
The game has a lot of vehicles so far (I'm only 120 hours in). Are there any racing type quests/gigs or is the driving just decorative?

-no spoiler- Claire has a Gig for that, 4-5 races i think, but would be great add more races randomly over the city :D after that ones

Yes. After finishing one of Judy's missions, you will get a call that leads to a questline which involves 4 races.

Some time after you've finished that mission, you'll get a text that lets you re-play those 4 races whenever you want.

But if you have a Phantom Liberty DLC, there's a lot more once you've been to Dogtown. Namely you'll find a mission there that opens the "Vehicle theft" missions. These are missions where you are tasked with stealing a car, and then driving it to a destination. There are three randomly selected conditions though, you have to get the car there before a timer runs out, one of the gangs might attack you on the way there, or you'll have to get it there undamaged.

All the races you do with Claire (4) can be repeated in a racing activity that pays 10k Eddies w/ car discount coupon.

Also, there's a neat little "Time Trial" mod you can experiment with, if ya get bored.

Can also get all of these conditions for the same session (only had that happening once before I restarted the game, though), or 2 of them.

Yeah, you will generally get one or two of them.

I did get all three once or twice early on after the 2.0 release, but i think they may have revised this?

Afterall, it's neigh impossible to deliver a near spotless car if gangoons are shooting it to bits over several miles of distance (and if they haven't fixed that, they should, because these two requirements are basically incompatible. You can deliver an undamged car on a timer, it's more difficult but doable, but you can't do that when it's also getting shot to bits).

It was actually doable when I got the one with all 3, as I remember I was a bit proud :lunar2019grinningpig: But I had the cyberdeck with half RAM vehicle hacks cost then (forgot the name now), so I took out the chasers with Self Destruct long before they started shooting.

Actually, I think I got the 3rd objective after I had destroyed the followers, so it might not be possible to have all 3 at once.

But did you do it in a Mai Mai? Then i'd be genuinly impressed!

With all due respect, I only count 7 and 3 are DLC.
Who the ♥♥♥♥ gave us 2 bajillion NCPD quests and only 4 races?

Netwatch Netdriver? (named something like that). I had that in my previous game. Very useful feature with the deck, but I still had to use "overclock" perk if there were several
vehicles after me

That's the one :cybereye: I've taken a liking to the Tetratronic Rippler in my current game, though. Fully upgraded it has 6 (or 7?) more RAM than the Netwatch Netdriver (and much more than the others), and I've gotten used to throwing in a small non-combat hack after combat hacks - if needed - to make them more powerful. A bit silly requirement, but a tier 2 'Cripple movement' is only 2 RAM, and just as efficient as the higher tier ones, it seems.

It's still good for 2 Self Destruct without Overclock, and I'm not too focused on always finding cameras to hack through anymore, like with the Netwatch Netdriver.

Ha ha, my thought too :steamhappy: I use it too currently (I use iconic sonic shock which uses 2 mem, as the last hack in queue). Rippler is possibly the best general deck IMO - others are bit too usage style specific (like for using with monowire). To increase the mem I have also installed as much cyber implants which increase mem. You can always use other quickhacks to combat the chasing cars like 'contagion' or just 'overheat' for the people inside the car.
