Are Throwable knives considered as blades?
I invested in the cool tree, throwable knives are very fun to use. But will they also benefit from the blades perks?

I don't believe they do, but someone else should confirm this. Only for katanas and the others with only 3 stats (and not 5 like throwable weapons). They're basically melee weapons, also when throwing them, but that should also be confirmed by others :cybereye:

I'm also using throwing knives / axes, but have never spent points on the blades perks, at least.

If you're holding them and slashing with them, then probably.
Soon as you hold down the Throw key, no, pretty sure they don't.

Most likely this, Reflex for blades while holding them, but Cool when you decide to throw stuff

Ofcourse my meaning was when you slash with them.. it's obvious that it doesn't count when throwing. But I also think that even when you slash with knives, they don't consider as blades. I also ran into a thread in Reddit that some people confirm that knives don't benefit at all from blades perks.

Also, you can't block with a throwable weapon, so that's another indication. When you press the block button it just goes to aim mode. And some perks in the blades tree relate to blocking..

That also makes sense, even more in the current states of things since now you choose your prefeable mode of damage and then tech, would be weird to have to split threeway to get a decent build.

I am pretty sure anything that adds generic melee damage does effect throw damage. I do not think blade specific perks work with knives, even when using them as melee.

No, weapons you can throw (knives, axes) are considered "throwables", its right part of the COOL skilltree.

While we're at it, I've been wondering if the Silencio mod is effective for thrown attacks, and not just when using them as melee stabbing weapons? Gotten mixed feedback on this before when searching. I've been using them on high tier knives and axes so far.

it has "Increases Crit Chance by 100% (at tier 5) while crouched and undetected" stat, as well as "At Tier 4 rarity and higher, also increases Crit Damage by 25-50%."

I always seem to get crit hits when throwing my axe with it, but not sure if it's because of this mod, or purely because of the perks and 'lucky' RNG-rolls.

I also noticed that you can add blades and melee mods to your throwable weapon, so this only adds to the confusion.
Also, aren't smart guns (which has a dedicated perks in the Intelligence tree) affected by the normal gun perks? Shotguns, SMG, Assault rifles etc'. It is logical that the ARE! so why won't knives and axes be affected from the blades and melee perks just the same?

I don't understand why the developers don't give straight answers to this sort of questions.
People don't want to waste their precious attribute points for nothing! They need to address this.
