What is the Personnel Access Token for?
As per title. I picked it during the regina gig involving stealing a van from the warehouse. It's not a junk item. The description simply says "Used by building service personnel to access the building". But there's nothing at the warehouse that requires use of it, at least I didn't spot any

By the way, I also encountered an "encrypted data" on one of the laptops there. I failed it. What does it contain?

Maybe I got it mixed up and the token is actually for the main quest involving kopeki plaza?

Not to be confused with "PERSONAL" access token that is mentioned in the wiki.
It means that at some point in that mission there was a door you couldn't get though, until you picked that up.

You find them in your inventory after missions sometimes. Once the mission you got them from is done they're basically just junk items. Scrap-em if you can, sell-em if you can't or throw-em in the stash if all else fails.

More often than not "encrypted data" contains a message of some sort. The good news is you don't loose out on anything vital if you fail it.

Thank you. Would you happen to know what the encrypted data at the warehouse gig contains?

Nope. Pretty sure (like 72%) this is the mission if you want to look i thought.

Side thought. When you say it was on a laptop, it wasn't one of the games hacking minigames instead? Where you have three possible rewards listed on the right? Typically looks like this?

I had a look at the wiki as well, but unfortunately they did not mention anything about the laptop.

Yes, the encrypted data involved a mini hacking game, same as the one for access points. However, there is no actual reward listed. It isn't so much the one you are talking about but more like those "encrypted shards" that we get - eg the one from militech meredith stout for the transaction.

However, this "shard" is on the laptop itself, not something listed in our shard journal.

Huh, weird. And it was too long ago with my current V to remember for myself.

The good news however, is that what I said about it being not being anything vital is most likely still true.
If the data is for a shard called Carpe Noctem....it ties into a later quest with Sandra Dorsett (The woman you save in the mission with Jackie during the prologue)

Unfortunately, I wouldn't know. I failed it. It's not like a regular encrypted shard because it isn't listed in our shard journal in the first place. It's purely on the laptop, To be specific, it's the laptop out in the front yard (the area with the main gate from which we drive out the van), not in the warehouse building itself.

That's why I'm so curious about it. This is the first laptop I have seen that comes with "encrypted data" instead of being just another access point for money, components and specs. Might be the only one.

It exists because there's at least one thread in reddit asking the same thing, albeit 2 years ago. It's amazing that no one else, not even the wiki knows about it. I think it is because most are not running netrunner builds.

For those who are on a new game, keep a lookout for it during Regina's "Many ways to skin a cat" gig. If you do find it and manage to hack it, please share the results here. Thank you.
