V’s manner of speaking
It should change based on the chosen life path. It makes no sense for a corpo V to talk like a teenager/street punk trying too hard to sound cool.

It also doesn't make sense for Corpo V to be so stupid, either. S/he was near the top of a counterintelligence division, but so many of the choices you can make are completely brain-dead. Like putting on that guy's BD wreath and ending up in the chop-shop (I'd also argue that Street Kid should be street-smart enough to not do that, too. Only Nomad makes any sense for them to fall for that).

Nice idea...CDPR didn't do nearly enough to make the different Lifepaths a unique experience of the game. Oh well...maybe they will do better with Orion.

I'm not as livid or picky about it as others, but I do think it would have been awesome if both Cherami Leigh and Gavin Drea were given more work and money, to push a totally different approach just for the corpo path.

But that would have taken much longer time to accomplish and as we now know, this game's development had non to spare (time that is). Some may not realize this, but they both have a ton of lines in the game.

I think their current voice acting contributions are both excellent for either street kid or nomad paths. But yeah, I would have loved to hear a more intellectually stuck up style for the corpo runs. Especially from Cherami. She's got great range.

When I played this game briefly with Japanese voice overs, female V actually sounded perfect as a corpo. Felt like I was playing the part of an Arasaka agent. But I digress.
We'll have to just deal with what we have now, whenever we run the corpo path and pretend both he or she, are a bit of a reluctant "Edgier" corpo rat type, perhaps like David Martinez was when he first entered the Arasaka academy. ;)

Yes sure, but you also have to look at it from a business perspective tho. Imagine having to do double/triple the amount of (million?) voice lines that are alrdy there ;) It would cost so much money and time, just for the choice you make at the start.

I cannot recall V using "teenage" language at the Arasaka office though. Moreover, whenever you get to chose the Corpo dialogue option, the language is anything but teenage.

Orion will have actual nexusmods cybeprunk Modders cooperate with CDPR.
I just hope CDPR doesn't work with the dumbest or most woke of the modders because they are tons of them. Nexus being a toxic platform so...

You have no clue on how much more work (and money, since no one work for free) would have your request, you need several more hundred hours of voice actors (in every single language the game is relesed, dozens so far) plus several coding hours
Not worth the cost on a company point of view, it simply make no sense.

The script/va works for the game, i doubt they were ever going to change it up for three 30min intro's, 3 unique scripts for the entire game would be a lot of work for the va.

Exactly
It's the dialect of NC.

Street Kids, Corpos and even the Nomads, are still all from pretty much the same geographical location, ergo the same dialect.

That's how accents work.

Nah, people from different socioeconomic backgrounds speak differently from one another. When’s the last time you saw a billionaire speaking in urbonics?

You hit the nail right on the head there my friend.
Lifepaths have a much, much bigger impact in the tabletop game. They're akin to what D&D would call a "class". In CP'77, lifepaths have nothing to do with abilities and progression unlike the tabletop game.

From what I can tell, the video game was designed around a specific lifepath story and two other lifepaths were thrown into the game later in development. I think they should've stuck to the one that was designed originally rather than toss a tablescrap reference to the tabletop mechanic.

Right at the start there were four 'rolls' planned.
We saw Solo (femV) and Netrunner (mascV) in the 2018 'deep dive' vid they released
They kept those parts but dumped the other two. (Think one was a Techie who was going to use the Flathead originally, and another, probably the bare bones for an Exec, the 2045 version of Corpo)
Then it looks like they took all the skills and abilities and created that original convoluted tree we used to use in 1.0 - 1.63

I think they (investors and shareholders) got scared that not enough people would play the game if it was too RPG heavy.
(Baldurs Gate 3 says hi lmao, now every game wants to be BG3 or Fortnite lol)
So they went more action, less RPG. More looter shooter.

I mean, I'm happy with what I have. The only real thing I want now is for them to give the modding community the keys to the kingdom so to speak, and let them loose with the game so we can have more and deeper mods.
Quest mods, all the in game NPC clothing, accessories ect. Ability to maybe create our own cutscenes and even endings (accepting that they are non-canon of course)

But like many... I wonder what different world we might have got, if they had leaned into the rpg part more.
