Question regarding Self-Ice cyberware
As you all know, it negates an enemy quickhack. However, from what I have seen thus far, there seems to be other conditions associated with its use other than just simply not having it on cooldown.

To use a scenario, let's say we are fighting NCPD MaxTac. The bunch that drops in every so often includes a couple of netrunners among them.

They immediately start targeting the player with quickhacks.

What I notice is that self-ice protects against quickhacks where the enemy netrunner has direct LOS (single red line to the player). But if it is done via indirect sight through another member, it does not seem to stop it.

Going back to my MaxTac example. It was a long fight and I saw the notification that my self-ice was ready again. I was fighting behind a wall, so no direct LOS to the MaxTac netrunner. So he started deploying "system collapse" against me via one of the other NCPD officers near my position. In other words, there were two red lines - MaxTac netrunner to NCPD officer - me.

Since my self-ice was up, I was expecting it to fail like the previous quickhack they tried to use against me when they first landed. But the "imminent collapse" continued on to 70% and eventually completed, resulting in my demise.

So my question is. Does Self-Ice not protect against indirect (ie LOS through another person) quickhacks? Or are there certain quickhacks that it can't protect against, such as system collapse?

To emphasize, my self-ice was up before the netrunner even tried to use system collapse against me. I saw the notification that it was ready. I even have the self-ice icon up.
