Damn, the new DLSS is absolutely gorgeous!
Certainly at super high resolutions (it never did look good at low resolutions like 1080p for instance). Everything looks a huge step up. "Balanced" now looks like the old "quality setting". "Quality" looks like something more akin to the old DLAA now. The new "balanced" actually looks good enough that the visual trade-off wouldn't even bother me if I had to use it. 3K DLSS Quality actually looks better than native 4K! That's crazy! & I'm getting over 100fps. It feels like a huge graphics/performance overhaul. I always hated how blurry the post processing in this game looked (even after modding most of it out); distant textures looked especially bad/blurry/soft, but now everything looks so clear, & much more realistic.

RIP AMD lol. Just as they gained some parity with FSR 3.1 (everything looked absolutely inferior to DLSS prior to that); they're now miles behind again.

Even though the technical implementation is actually quite trite, this feels like the biggest upgrade the game has received yet. Almost makes me want to play the whole game all over again, & I'm already 3+ completions in already lol.

Slight waste of time posting these tbh, because the compression absolutely ruins what it actually looks like in-game, but whatever.

Haven't had much time to test it out much yet, this was my first quick look at it; but feel free to post your own hi-res DLSS/DLAA screenshots if you've got anything good :D

Stunning screenshots! What were your graphics settings when you took these?

Looks fantastic! Are you using hi-res textures, or is this default 'everything', please? The resolution of 2880x1620 was a bit interesting, or is that because of the scaling? (edit: I noticed now that you mentioned 3k).

Also very impressed with DLSS4 so far  Using 2k (1440p) with a 4080S, quality DLSS looks and runs great with path tracing.

WIll be interesting to see if there will be further changes or improvements tomorrow when the new drivers are scheduled for release along with the 50xx cards.

Sacrifice the path tracing to be able to use DSR ? Really ? No... thank you.....

Why "RIP AMD" ?!?
FSR and XESS are user friendly open source solutions for producing high resolution outputs from lower resolution inputs.
DLSS on the other hand is everything but open source and needs dedicated hardware to work, which is the exact reason why it looks better than software based upscaling like FSR or XESS. AMD and Intel arent there to compete on an eye to eye level with NVidia when its about upscaling features.

Nvidia capitalizes on those features and their main target group arent gamers anymore, but the consumer-AI market. Intel and AMD make different chips and aim for different target groups. Thats why AMD leads all tests&benchmarks when its about best price to perfomance ratio. Team red is as good as it gets when its about getting most of your money for pure utilization power.

And Ive also to diasagree with your statement about DLSS 4 being the biggest visual upgrade CP would have received until now. Its not a game feature but a 3rd party implementation based on your GPU model. People seem to forget that the best image quality is still native resolution and that there is no reason to use upscaling features unless you youre unhappy with your framerate. If thats the case, DLSS will provide minimal quality sacrifice with maximum FPS gain. And like already mentioned, because DLSS makes use of d-hardware, it looks much better and way more crisp than FSR or XESS.

And why would you use DSR instead of RayTracing? Doesnt make any sense to me, with all due respect, especially not on higher resolutions like the one youre running.

Ive used high end AMD GPUs for the last few years and switched to a 4080 Super a few months ago and the only sceneraio where is make use of DLSS is when I enable PathTracing. Other than that, DLSS is always turned off, because nothing beats the original image quality in my opinion. I know many people who feel the same.

But to each their own I guess. Im glad youre enjoying those new features while playing this masterpiece.
Have fun.

Idk about that, vegetation is broken, CNN model doesn't have this problem.

Those screenshots look delish, though.

Damn. To get a new rig or not to get a new rig...
(Currently having an 8 yo potato).
Why does everyone go ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ for fake resolution?

No idea, but the game does look nice though. :)
(I always play oldschool, at 100% resolution.).

Because the majority of people are fine with the minimal fidelity sacrifice for better performance.

It’s gotten to the point where you need to pause the games in order to point out differences between native and DLSS which means it doesn’t impact gameplay at all except for better performance.

Also, it's not really 'fake' since it's still calculated and generated by the GPU, but 'fake' has become a very popular word... :flammable:

Guess you didn't see any of the FSR4 footage.

It's the new fake personality to say everything is fake and/or AI. Absolute posers.

I notice DLAA can use the new transformer model too, but it runs like ass at 4k in the game with my settings.
It will be very interesting to try it out in other games once we get the drivers and can force this stuff in any game.
