Slight waste of time posting these tbh, because the compression absolutely ruins what it actually looks like in-game, but whatever.
Haven't had much time to test it out much yet, this was my first quick look at it; but feel free to post your own hi-res DLSS/DLAA screenshots if you've got anything good :D
Also very impressed with DLSS4 so far
WIll be interesting to see if there will be further changes or improvements tomorrow when the new drivers are scheduled for release along with the 50xx cards.
Why "RIP AMD" ?!?
FSR and XESS are user friendly open source solutions for producing high resolution outputs from lower resolution inputs.
DLSS on the other hand is everything but open source and needs dedicated hardware to work, which is the exact reason why it looks better than software based upscaling like FSR or XESS. AMD and Intel arent there to compete on an eye to eye level with NVidia when its about upscaling features.
Nvidia capitalizes on those features and their main target group arent gamers anymore, but the consumer-AI market. Intel and AMD make different chips and aim for different target groups. Thats why AMD leads all tests&benchmarks when its about best price to perfomance ratio. Team red is as good as it gets when its about getting most of your money for pure utilization power.
And Ive also to diasagree with your statement about DLSS 4 being the biggest visual upgrade CP would have received until now. Its not a game feature but a 3rd party implementation based on your GPU model. People seem to forget that the best image quality is still native resolution and that there is no reason to use upscaling features unless you youre unhappy with your framerate. If thats the case, DLSS will provide minimal quality sacrifice with maximum FPS gain. And like already mentioned, because DLSS makes use of d-hardware, it looks much better and way more crisp than FSR or XESS.
And why would you use DSR instead of RayTracing? Doesnt make any sense to me, with all due respect, especially not on higher resolutions like the one youre running.
Ive used high end AMD GPUs for the last few years and switched to a 4080 Super a few months ago and the only sceneraio where is make use of DLSS is when I enable PathTracing. Other than that, DLSS is always turned off, because nothing beats the original image quality in my opinion. I know many people who feel the same.
But to each their own I guess. Im glad youre enjoying those new features while playing this masterpiece.
Have fun.
Damn. To get a new rig or not to get a new rig...
(Currently having an 8 yo potato).
No idea, but the game does look nice though. :)
(I always play oldschool, at 100% resolution.).
It’s gotten to the point where you need to pause the games in order to point out differences between native and DLSS which means it doesn’t impact gameplay at all except for better performance.
Also, it's not really 'fake' since it's still calculated and generated by the GPU, but 'fake' has become a very popular word...
Guess you didn't see any of the FSR4 footage.

It will be very interesting to try it out in other games once we get the drivers and can force this stuff in any game.
