I saw that mod and guess never read it all, just thought was a customization type mod for appearances, so will have to check out thanks.
CP'77 has a wholly different purpose, though. Its resemblances to the tabletop game are quite limited.
We'll see what the follow-up game does. UE will demand that the developers completely abandon the ways of REDengine (or the result will be a disaster). This also provides opportunities to do things different since the option to do things the same is just not on the table.
(Yes. One can replicate everything in other engines in UE in the way that UE requires, but why waste the opportunity to do something new when changes are going to happen whether they're desired or not?)
So, let's put aside all our 2077 expectations and see what comes from the follow-up game being made by a UE-specific division of CDPR from the USA. I hope CDPR marketing pushes hard on that the follow-up isn't going to be 2077 part 2 so that the developers' hands aren't bound to the past.
Your input was really not needed. I have finished the game several times, but it gives more atmosphere with a companion. Most AI companion games are not greatest AI. I am not looking for "help" to beat the game. I just think it would be nice to make melee character or gunner and have another do the hacking for me. I don't need a superman complex.
I would be surprised if see that soon since basically in conception still. But GL to them.
Might be something to lobby for with the sequel, especially while they're scoping out how the game is to be built. I think it can be done well although I personally would rather it be limited, where the strengths can be played up by tight scripting, because there's always going to be that weird thing where the companion either needs babysitting or is essentially a part of the scenery.
For sure, this would be something nice to expand on.
I love having Johnny around though! haha
Not being able to join or properly work with gangs and corps etc. is a massive, massive missed opportunity. As is the omission of actually evolving into a high-end merc with a view to working with a crew (companions) and/or eventually becoming something of a fixer.
Very good game but to this day, one that constantly reminds of what you can't do rather than surprise you with what you can.
