DLSS performs worse now?
I get much worse performance from the DLSS settings I was using before the last update.

before the update I could play the old style of DLSS (whatever it is, C something something now, but it used to just be the only otpion) at 60FPS on Quality, now it won't go above 40FPS.

The new DLSS (T something something) on Quality is even worse, it's like 30FPS.

I had to drop down to Balanced on the old DLSS model just to get near 50FPS, like, WTF happened? Why is it so much worse now?

do you play with path tracing or rtx at all ? pretty sure they updated the path tracing in the game and its a bit more intensive

Just medium RTX, with ray re-construction.

I was legit getting a steady 60FPS before, now it's like, 2/3rds that, at best.

hmm, what GPU you got if you dont mind posting some specs, could be unrelated to the game maybe ?, a while back people were reporting nvidia overlay was causing fps dips, not sure if that ever got patched or not, but if you have the nvidia overlay on, id try turning it off and see if it helps at all.

I haven't changed any of my over-lay settings and most of them are all turned off except for the Steam-overlay.

My rig is pretty mid but it was handling the game fine before.

its ok, should be enough to handle cyberpunk, its possible it might be running out of vram ?

this mod can help ray tracing look better while giving you 10-40% peformance boost depending on some settings, it also can reduce vram usage and stuff like that

I'll look into that. Thank you.

I don't think I'm running out of VRAM, the 3060 is one of the few RTX cards with 12GB of it.

ya, if you have the 12gb model of the 3060 then i doubt its that, but theres also a 8gb model as well

My B, I thought all the 3060's came with the 12GB.

Yeah, my model is the 12GB one.

I don't know what they did but I definitely get worse performance now. 🤷‍♂️

I'll look into the mods though.

these settings are also pretty popular if you want to try them, have the video wtih the time stamp if the time stamp doesnt work, skip to 23 minutes into the video, but its basically pushing more peformance while keeping the best visuals possible, you can watch the entire video if you want to see it in depth.

edit: the mod has some presets built into it you can change at anytime in game with the cybertweaks overlay, so, you can ignore the video if you are downloading the mod, but if you arent, you can just try these settings and see if it helps if for what ever reason you dont want to install it.

1080p? The new balanced should be the old quality but a bit better....

I have a 3060 ti and performance mode looks great at 1440p and it still runs locked 48 fps(tho it was 60 fps without the lock it dropped while driving) with the new model...have noticed no changes other than a clear improved image model

Make sure you have Nvidea overlay disabled...it has said to skimp about as many frames as you mentioned in some games...tho I think the last driver fixes this

You won't run out of Vram with 12 gbs...I don't with 8@1440p

Yeah. I rock at 1080p, 1440p is just a bit too much for the standard 3060.
DLSS Performance on the transformer model looks better than DLSS Quality on the CNN model. Just use performance mode. It honestly looks insanely good now and performs far better than DLSS Quality did before. They improved DLSS across the board, having the lowest setting visually look better than the best setting before. I know it's a shot to the ego sometimes to not max a setting, but in this case it's perfectly reasonable to do, and highly recommended. Just try performance mode.
Try uninstalling your graphics drivers then boot into Safe Mode, run Display Driver Uninstaller while in Safe Mode, then reinstall the latest drivers.

Also try deleting the game's settings.json file, but if you do that (the game will automatically re-create the file) you'll have to go through and set all your settings again, including preferences, keybindings, everything.
For me, using the new Transformer model at Quality, I get 10fps less than the CNN model at Quality. But when I choose Transformer model Balanced, I get above 20fps more than CNN Quality, AND it looks better.
So win-win.

The transformer model is heavier. Worse on 30 or 20 series cards.
