DLSS 4 disappointing
the image improved a bit, but the FPS dropped. even by 10 fps or more. is it just me who feels that the image has been worsened on the CNN DLSS?

i can see that the latency graphic is not as smooth as with old DLSS

maybe it's not working till 30-JAN when they launch the RTX 50's ???

PC-specific
Added support for DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation for GeForce RTX 50 Series graphics cards, which boosts FPS by using AI to generate up to three times per traditionally rendered frame – enabled with GeForce RTX 50 Series on January 30th. DLSS 4 also introduces faster single Frame Generation with reduced memory usage for RTX 50 and 40 Series. Additionally, you can now choose between the CNN model or the new Transformer model for DLSS Ray Reconstruction, DLSS Super Resolution, and DLAA on all GeForce RTX graphics cards today. The new Transformer model enhances stability, lighting, and detail in motion.
Fixed artifacts and smudging on in-game screens when using DLSS Ray Reconstruction.
The Frame Generation field in Graphics settings will now properly reset after switching Resolution Scaling to OFF.
What's your GPU? Can't test myself till later (GoG version). I've got an RTX 4070Ti Super 16GB

I understand you can leverage it a bit by reducing the scaling down. Balanced instead of quality for example?

For me everything is better, from path tracing ghosting to frame generation.
the new performance mode >= old quality mode.
Looks like Reflex2 will be good too.

The new transformer is better in every way compared to their old model, it's night and day when it comes to detail retention and clarity in movement, even with a low source input like 1080p.

I have 3060. I was playing yesterday night and I think now old Quality is worse. new DLSS looks better but took 10 fps so disappointing

Yeah it runs worse for sure, but given the quality uplift i think it's a fair trade-off.

No driver from nvidia, patch useles untill 30 Jan
NikikOtt Jan 23 @ 7:16am
It is substantially better, using DLSS performance mode is on par with the old CNN DLSS quality mode

Do we know that for sure? Why would They release an update for DLSS 4 without the driver?

I'll put it through its paces anyway and measure the performance with Afterburner.

yes but they promissed better picture with same fps, as always was with new versions of dlss. and - as I said - I think old dlss looks worse than it was.

amarek Jan 23 @ 7:35am
Freezes now on linux on startup - thank you very much!!!
Solis Jan 23 @ 7:36am
i had to switch to the old one for a sec to notice the differences and the difference is actually massive. much better on the transformer model
