With a recent update CyberPunk has nerfed AMD GPUs by 10 percent.
When I run the CyberPunk benchmark now compared to the time prior to the updates for CyberPunk the maximum framerate of my 7900XTX compared to before has decreased from 143 FPS to 130 FPS running at 1440p with everything set to Ultra, no FSR or Ray-Tracing.

Is Nvidia doing the same shenanigans again that they did with tessellation back in the day with devs, to nerf the competitors GPU???

And yes, everything is running in the same state, no extra programs running in the background.

Let's just see how quickly CD Projekt Red implements FSR4 compared to how quickly they implement DLSS 4

Before you start screaming bloody murder about how Nvidia is (allegedly) trying to artificially throttle the performance of AMD cards across the board, why don’t you tell us more about this so called “recent update” of yours that you received?

For all we know, it could be a random shader cache update (which has nothing to do with Nvidia nor CDPR).

Just ran the benchmark on my 7900GRE 1440p ultra no FSR or XESS 105fps which is identical to what i was getting when i upgraded 8 months ago.

When was the last time you cleaned your PC could be your GPU not clocking as high as it used to and just needs a bit of a clean, you would be shocked even in a pretty clean house how much dust can build up in your CPU and GPU heatsinks.

Using an RTX 4080 i checked screenshot from 1 year ago and 8 months ago. I also just did a benchmark. They all performed the same that being within 0.5fps avg of each other. Odd as i swear i lost 5% with this newer driver. But guess i didn't really. And the change they made to the game's Ray Tracing or whatever and i was using Pathing+RR. So hm kinda surprised here.

I just watched a video that was done 2 years ago. Guy benched 125fps avg 1440p Ultra settings with the 7900xtx and 120fps using an RTX 4080. I just benched my RTX 4080 and got 130fps. Which is odd as the 7900xtx typically beats it if not using Ray Tracing. But my Gigabyte does have the slight factory overclock. So that helps it a little i guess.

Windows updates and gpu driver updates can make a big difference. And or other software on the puter like razor as an example. I'm completely shocked my Ray Tracing results were the same. But that is just so rare. I've not updated Windows 11 to 24h2 yet btw.

Clear shader cache, try a different gpu driver, etc.

I did not notice any change with recent updates, besides FSR 3.0. AMD 6900.

I have 3060ti and i7-10700f. I was playing with high graphics without rtx for more than a week and 3 days ago I opened the game got half of the previous performance in the game. I got drop from 80 to 40 fps and 60-240ms of LAT. I thought that something bugged with some of updates, but when I checked updates for game, windows and drivers, none of those were updated. Then I decided to put the lowest graphics and the benchmark didin`t show more than 70 fps with constant freezing and drops to 30 fps. After that I reinstalled the game and installed to ssd, nothing changed, went to check the performance of my hardware in other games like gta5 and it was running well like before, so no hardware issues, just something with cyberpunk. I decided to contact the developers, the helper asked me to send them Dx.Diag and the benchmarks for high and lowest graphics. Now I`m waiting for response.

It's not an AMD issue.

I've got an RTX 4090 with 24gb of Vram, and the game performance is unplayable now since last patch.

We're talking micro stutters, screen tearing, violently fluctuating FPS, and that's even if i select the "LOW" graphics preset, and lower my resolution to 720p.

The game's just plain FUBAR since the patch, for AMD and nVidia users alike.

Really? What gives.. i got no stutters.. on win11. gog version.

Maybe the steam version of cyberpunk plays worse?

Same with path of exile, most people have better experience with standalone, not steam version. But its just a wild guess, probably pc problem.

Nah, Steam version here and not seeing anything he's describing either. New computer, but it's mid-range.

Are you running Windows 11? Some games, cant remember if this one has confirmed, are having problems running recently on WIndows 11.

Dunno about him, but I am. No ( new ) issues.

Benchmarks are giving slightly different results over several times, they don't give precisely always the same result.

I can run my benchmark 10 times and get slightly different FPS, scores each time.

in few attempts you can get variations and that can be even up or down 10%

You might have had the AV running a scan in background without knowing and that's already 10-15% drop in the benchmark

Hmm, seen no issues here.
3070ti + i9 9900kf. High preset with rtx on, dlss on quality preset, 1080p 144fps. Only time I dip below 140 is if the game decides to randomly generate cars in front of me. (or my favorite, after I've parked and it's now inside my GD car).

Well, I guess you just answered my question. I put down Cyberpunk in mid 2024, and after picking it up in jan 2025 I have ♥♥♥♥ performance. Went from 90-120+ fps with everything maxed out 4k120hz, to at best 80 fps with the same settings. The hell did they do??? My frame timing and everything is all over the place too. runs like crap. 7800X3D & 7900XTX.

My I9-12900K & 4090 rig (with the same RAM) runs the same as it ever did, no change whatsoever except possibly 3-5 fps less in a few areas.

I really don't understand what graphics settings this game wants, now it automatically activated the 2560x1600 resolution when I had set it to 1920x1080, worried about the FPS and the AMD Adrenalin software sent a message asking to activate the FSR in automatic mode and surprisingly this happens...running above 110 Fps, they decide at once, I didn't even touch anything, I just did what AMD Software Adrenalin asked me, crazy game
