some mods cant be installed with vortex, specific hair mods for example you need to pick the file for the hairstyle you want and put them inside the folder manually

Do you have all the other mods that your mods depend on installed? (ArchiveXL, etc.).
i have the other mods downloaded and theyre all vortex mods
Lot of mods aren't made to be used with vortex even though the poster allowed it to be installed through it, they don't have the file pathing done correctly so it places files in the wrong location

Please use one mod you have problems with as an example here. Post the link then list all the steps you did yourself in the order you did them. That way we can see which step went wrong, was forgotten or if there is any dependency missing or needing a specific version.

You do not want hand holding with mods because sooner or later you will run into issues which you need to figure out yourself especially if you use more then a few mods and there are countless different ways mods might need to be setup depending on what the mod is supposed to do.
Not had any issues with vortex mods myself. Aside from some I really want to use again not being updated.

Then again, I probably should see if I have any of the hair mods. Mostly had clothing style ones and the vehicle upgrades(very fun mod).

Always read the install instructions for a mod. While most can be installed via vortex, other require selectively putting bit here or there. I tend to avoid anything that requires moving too many files as it can be a pain to remove.
First you need to know what you want and get to know each mod better and you have to see the requirements of your machine if you can get the best out of each mod , I've been testing them one by one for a week and then filtering them.

Mods in this game are another rats nest of dependencies like Skyrim. Use a pen and paper to keep track of what mods need what mods.

Vortex has always been hit or miss, because modders actually have to package their mods in a very specific way for it to work, and not all of them care to do so.

Ergo, i decided not to bother with it at all, and just install everything manually. That always works. Vortex, notalways so much..
I do everything manually to see the ♥♥♥♥ I install and separate it from the good content, because there are mods, the more you have, the more it weighs on the game and then the game doesn't even run, especially graphics mods that change lights and the environment that can conflict with ours. graphics card and settings because our machine doesn't have these requirements or is programmed to perform other graphical requirements, I only install customizations for V and clothes and some tools that are light and useful at the beginning, it's like having mods for 4K and 8K or HDR if our machine does not support it so why install them, it will overload the game and strain the machine .

-At least it runs textures in HD, I have an AMD Ryzen 7 card, I have HDR for video transmission but it does not support HDR for use, 2560x1600 240hz 32Gb only with skin mods it ran above 120fps I installed some more mods it dropped to 21fps in AMD software Adrenalin Edition with RYPR-RX config I can't even play lol, now I have to remove half of the mods

And also be careful with clothing mods, there are more recent clothing mods only for those with 5 thousand machines, they can weigh up to 500mb each set

They usually list them as for photomode in the description but if not then I simply tend to avoid anything that says 4k in it. That is a safe bet that its not made purely then for photomode.

It happens in most heavy modded games. Fallout 4 and Skyrim also had texture, models sometimes in the gigabytes. I rather have those however then a influx of meme mods.

Yes, but not everyone knows this, that's why I said it, and not all mods inform this, there are always some who forget to inform the machine requirements to install the respective mods, because there are high quality clothes that when installed without having knowledge This will crash the whole game , In fact, the mods do not inform the minimum requirements of the machines to install the mods, they just say that it is for 4K or 8K..but they should say so, because those who make the mods may have high capacity machines but the players in general may not have them and they probably don't even remember that when installing them because their eyes are focused on improving the game and they forget the requirements of what they install

Oh yes definitively I agree which is also why I listed ways to recognize it. That said crashing a game by modding is more like a initiation ritual everyone will have it sooner or later.

I spend the last 4 hours debugging why Jackie decided to walk towards my car in the ripper mission then decide to return to the food stall and eat more food while locking my car for use permanently. Turns out that a car mod I had was the cause but it was not the car related to the mission. The joy of modding..

You're better than me, I spend 4 hours installing and removing mods, I create the V characters, I start the game, the game starts to bug and I decide to uninstall the game and install it again from the beginning and go back to installing all the mods except those who made a mess in search of limited perfection to be able to play normally with as many mods and content as possible, with me it's either all or nothing 😆😁 either I play properly or the game goes in the drawer 😂😂
