Good source for 5++ Knife or Kaiken?
I've been killing every Tygers I see on the street but had no luck so far. Is their a more reliable source for any of those weapons?

This is a good axe:

Be prepared to do some roof-climbing to get it! :steamsunny:
Trying to get your hands on a 5++ weapon (that isn't an iconic) is sheer dumb luck to if or when it may drop.
More so if you want max slots (what is the max number of slots on a thrown weapon?) with nothing already in them.

So basically hand in there and your luck should turn sooner or later .
Probably :steammocking:.

Unfortunate, it is purely RNG. The only enemy that I am aware of that uses the knife as an actual weapon so there is an increased chance of getting them are Arasaka guards.

There is also a problem that all throwing and melee weapons dropped from enemies will never be 2 open mod slot, which is just stupid. Your only chance of getting either of those with 2 open mod slots are from "chests".

I was lucky enough to get a 2 mod slot 5++ knife from a high yield chest on my throwing knife playthrough, but your mileage may vary.

If it is the aesthetics you are interesting in, the Stinger is pretty good.

There are some scripted weapons that will always have the tier corresponding to your level. Like 5++ starting level 50. I know a place for a Satara, for example. I do not pay attention to throwing weapons, but I guess there are some scripted locations for those too.
To be clear, these are NOT dropped loot. These are always weapons that are at specific locations.

still looking for a 5++ Neurotoxin Knife with unused Mod-Slots. I LOVE my Neurotoxin Knife, but its not maxed out yet. I do own the 2 Iconics, but i still prefer the normal one.

Why not just use the throwing weapon perk instead of the second mod?

Pax mods would be superior for throwing knives, assuming you are going with stealth.
Go to Pacifica and run circles starting from the ripper going to the construction site then around the sidewalks. Many high-tier enemies that aren't far apart in Pacifica. Good farm for resource & eddies, which is good to have if you find your knife at a melee vendor

no Points left for investing in that^^ Would have to reset all points and think very carefully which one i would give up for that Perk. Did not plan my current setup.... and i dont know if i really want to go into finetuning. Was always a hassle back in my Destiny 2 Days XD

Two things that may help.

1) There's a little over a dozen "Perk Shards" hidden around the city. The wiki has the list.
Each one, as the name implies, gives a single free perk point.

2) The respec only applies to your Ability points (Tech, INT, Cool, etc), NOT your perk points, which can be swapped out at pretty much at will. Just right click on them.

There is a great guide for perk shards here on Steam with screenshots. It is what I use when I create new characters, because my memory is crap and I dont know them all off-hand.

Internet says 80 perk points total, is that correct?
Just counted mine and iam at 77. Maybe i will look for a Guide and check if it isnt too much work getting the last 3^^ Still need that 5++ unmodded Neurotoxin knife tho xD

Thanks anyway. But the Thread went a bit sideways because of me. this is about normal Knives and Kaiken. We should return to that.

Fair point about going sideways (first time on the net? :steammocking:), so I'll just say this.

Seems the new max is 82, but only so long as you didn't miss the one hidden in the underground car park you travel though to first enter Dogtown.
Otherwise option two would work if you can find a perk you don't really use.

all good. just found the last ones with wiki help. Not sure if i have the one from the underground Stadion Garage, but i remember that i grabbed whatever i could find in there xD
and no... long time User of the Internet with decent brain damage from it ;D
But still. Forum Threads should stay on track of the original Theme.
Different enemy types seem to have greater chances to drop different weapon types. Sadly I'm not sure what drops regular knives. I just know that Valentinos drop punk knives decently often since they're what I usually grind on.
