Thanks for the reply but I've already tried those solutions. I finished those missions a couple years or so ago and came back to play the PL dlc (better late than never haha). I just wish there was a way to play the dlc without having to reset all my current progress where I have everything maxed out (except for level as it used to be capped at 50 which apparently got changed to 60 or something at some point).
If yes, then I suspect we have your answer as you would be playing a version of the game (from what I understand of it) that was made before the update needed to recognise the existence of the DLC, let alone run it.
This would also explain why you said you kept running into advice saying you needed to start a new, 2.0, game save.
Idk when 2.0 dropped but I did play through the game sometime around 2022 according to my earliest achievements so yeah probably did make my original saves before then. If 2.0 is when PL came out then yeah I played through the game before the dlc was even available to purchase. I have since made a new save (only played like 10 mins or less on it though so far) and man I feel super squishy and weak again but if there's no way to play the dlc through other means then I guess It's fine it just sucks losing everything that took me around 100 hours to obtain previously.
The two were, very literally, made for each other.
As someone that's started a new character three times now (so many builds, so little time in the day) the squishy feeling goes away soon enough. I find the ball really starts rolling about level 10 (which also happens to be when you can get leg cyberware).
if you want to level up faster remember to get plenty of bed rest, as it gives an hour long exp bonus.
Yeah it's not the biggest of deals but definitely frustrating that I've had to start from the beginning again but then again gives me another excuse to put another 100 hours into the game haha :P. I need to get those achievements as an achievement collector :D. Also thanks for the exp tip. I noticed it a few times but didn't know why it was happening lol.
They also give hour long bonuses.
Thanks :)
At that point, he can just use ingame function that pop up when you start new game. It let you chose between regular new game or skip directly to DLC with some premade character.
I apologize if this sounds insultingly rudimentary, but I have a friend who this happened to and I had to work through it with him.
When you installed 2.21 and started your old game did you:
See Phantom Liberty on the load screen?
Did you get a message before starting about receiving a bunch of stuff?
After starting the game, did you get a sudden slew of messages?
In particular, one from Victor about new chrome?
Mixed amongst those calls should have been one from an "Unknown Caller" It will not show up in your messages. You have to go to your journal to see that it started Dog Eat Dog. My friend missed that and went to his messages to see rather than his journal.
Did you try to load a different save from before you went through whatever ending (presumably you ended the old game) you completed?
I was having motivational issues starting a new save, but with Phantom Liberty that all got taken care of with the skip ahead feature. If you want to boost your save even further, then you can also use the save editor on nexus.
Well my first DLC was with a completed 100% game, i just got Songbird call as soon i logged in. Don't know with recent patches, but back when 2.0 was released, my old 1.63 save managed to start the DLC
