I believe they're referring to the alternate outfit CDPR released with one of the bigger cyberpunk updates before PL.

It changes the outfit he wears and his hairstyle to something that looked more like the early cyberpunk tabletop atheistics than the modernised CDPR athstetics I'm right in saying that.

I actually prefer it more than Johnny's original look in the game, it actually fits more that he died over 50 years ago, his original look came off as being a bit too 2077 looking to begin with.

You get three outfits, three hairstyles and faces to choose from.
The one from the 2013/2020 never fade away, the one from the Arasaka assault and the one from Cybergenerations.

The alternate Johnny is not in reference to tabletop Johnny, just a more punk version of him.

Any way to have the araska assault outfit only appear for that flashback and the rest of the time it's one of the 2013/2020 Johnnys, if that ain't the case it's fine I'm still gonna get the mod for my modded run

Also anymore good atheistic/ character change mods that you recommend would be appreciated

Not sure.
I know you can mix n match the outfits, faces and hairstyles by just installing the one you want.

Depends on what you want to do.
Realistic?
Additional gameplay?
FashionPunk and photoshoot?
Roleplay?
Or just a bit of quality of life mods?
