A new update might be coming

I've been keeping tabs on cyberpunk on the youtube scene and from this linked video, it seems a lot more likely recently that an update of some form might be coming.

Official announcements

On a RED stream a while ago one of the devs said they might have something else coming or maybe not. In the most recent earnings call from around a week ago CDPR said they still plan to make another few hundred million dollars from the cyberpunk IP, and although the new anime coming will bring in some money as well as although not confirmed which IP there is a mobile developer working on a CDPR IP, it might be a cyberpunk IP. Which even so according to CDPR they expect to make even more money than the amount of money PL made, so I doubt its a mobile game, if there even is one for the cyberpunk IP.

The recent tweet

With the tweet[x.com] in the video they have a grid of birthdays of Cyberpunk 2077 characters, specifically only 2077 characters, which rules out any characters from edgerunners or the new anime, or the live action.

Devs

And because of the nature of how the recent updates have been with them being worked on by an outsourcing studio, there are no current devs working on 2077 from CDPR. Which means the fact that there are no devs is no indication that it isn't being worked on.

Hopefully they don't. Im so tired to have to update 300 + mods every time they release a new patch. It's a 5 years old game, it's time to let it go.

i need a sorting feature for the inventory, and filtering...i dont play with mouse and keyboard anymore, and those additions would be so good, i really hope they think about adding those

i dont even know why they never bothered to add those additions i mentioned...why give up cpdr? you arent done yet, almost, but not yet. fantastic game, but feels like it needs a few small QOL

It's likely premium version with phantom liberty included.

could be a possible for the amount of money they expect to make but i very much doubt it, also doesnt take into account the 6 possibly new characters

If there's anything more coming to Cyberpunk 2077, I am all in for it. Hell yeah.
But I will contain my expectations until and if something actually does come to the game in an official surprise announcement.

I too keep close tabs on CDPR development and rumors. This one looked interesting to me as well. The whole thing with the 6 missing characters. But it could be anything. Like anything at all. Maybe not even related to any actual update for the game itself.
But we'll see.

By the way, it's also super nice to see Michael Pondsmith good and healthy, actively working with CDPR devs.
I love that we're going to get to see more on Morgan Blackhand in the future. :)

They have no choice to do more update until the next project.
CDPR is a big boat now and they have to use all tricks to stay relevant and exist in the collective mind.
Doing update on this game prevent people forgetting about the IP, maintain online presence on youtube etc. Its the only goal of those low budget update since 2.0.
Its not going to stop anytime soon.
