Where can I buy ammo?

Title, search on Google/Bing netted me 0 answers oddly enough. Gun shop near my apartment did not sell ammo.

All gun vendors in game always sell ammo.
Its the only thing they always have.
999 of each of the four types. Refills after a day.

So maybe look again? Make sure you deactive the item filter and 'show all'?

Gang members always have ammo. I always throw 2 grenades at their little gatherings, free ammo and a few guns to breakdown/sell.

You can also craft your own ammo for a tiny amount of level 1 components.

You can craft ammo from your crafting interface. :) Just select the crafting option on your character menu, then when you open the interface, scroll all the way down and craft ammo for any type you need. Chances are high, you'll have enough tier 1 crafting components to pull ammo from.

All weapon vendors sell ammo, the only time it would look like they don't is if you clicked a tab in their menus that could hide the option.

So long as you can get your hands on tier 1 crafting parts (any white tier items, including all junk items) can be turned into ammo.

The act of walking over downed enemies results in vacuum cleaners built into V's heels sucking up any and all ammo that they had on them, which is typically a lot.

Vendors, but you shouldn't be ever in need to buy it. Are you picking up the huge amount of ammo around the world and in quest zones?

Playing late at night and figuring they HAD to have a separate 'Ammo' tab for their wares. Turns out, they only way you can find the ammo is in the 'View All' tab.
