1) Play the game without mods, so you know what vanilla is like.
2) Run into an issue/feature that's find annoying, unreasonable, or you want to improve ➜ find a mod that fixes it. With so many mods now, there is usually a mod that does it.
3) If no mod exists to fix that issue, then the options are to either make the mod yourself, or live with it. This is how all my mods[next.nexusmods.com] came to be.
Look through the top collection's mod list[next.nexusmods.com] and add the ones that look interesting to you. For obvious reasons, it's best to pick collections with a green success rating as reference.
But its missing the most essential content mods for Cyberpunk if you ask me, like
Missing Persons - Fixer's Hidden Gems[www.nexusmods.com] with 190 new fixer gigs and
Dogtown's Hidden Gems[www.nexusmods.com]
A lot of eastereggs, lore and funny stuff youve probably missed playing this masterpiece.
It took me around 20 to 30 hours to finish the first mod and around 5 to 10 hours to finish the Pacifica mod.
edit:
Just make sure to buy the author a coffee or something. He really deserves it.
Probably the best mod Ive ever used for CP.
Feels like a DLC.
Though there are a few bug reports of it not working on recent patches, I presume they are false positives?
Works fine on the current version for me. I think Ive used those two mods over years and on different game version without any issues.
I'll find out if it's working on new installs with the current game version, as I just downloaded it this morning.
It will be the first mod I've installed for Cyberpunk, so I did fresh installs of the 3 required mods to run this one, and there were plenty of chances for a less detailed person to improperly place files. Guarantee this accounts for *some* of the "this mod doesn't work" reports.
I won't be on until later, and also don't know if I'll have any immediate indication that it's operating, if it doesn't really kick in until after the fixers run out of their regular work for us.
In any case, I'm on a fresh start save currently, and this mod seems like it could add a lot of depth to exploring Night City. I'd looked at it before, but wasn't "there" yet.
This mod (Missing Persons-Fixer's Hidden Gems) is working. I don't know that it was at first, but I pulled up the settings for the mod, reviewed them, then hit the "Default" selection, and it changed one setting. And now it's working as advertised, and is in fact a cool addition to the game, especially for an early game or fresh start.
hahaa really? what mods are considered as "bigot" mods? lol with nexus.
I went from wanting to play as an ex Corpo Intelligence Officer to being content as an Uber driver.
I wish all the cars drove like the taxi in that mod, its perfect and its so relaxing driving around Night City... it's perfect.
I have over 200 mods
The Police mod that removes Police from being present on every street, it has them responding realistically and they continue to look for you for much longer than vanilla... so you have to be mindful of a squad car or cop on patrol.
Crime scenes etc are still there but seeing a beat cop everywhere is gone
Eat Sleep and Drink mod
Tougher economy... stock Market mod... everything is expensive so you need money to eat, sleep, buy ammo, clothes and equipment etc. I prefer this, if the game becomes easy then it gets boring... Finally being able to afford that bullet proof vest, Balaclava with Knee and thigh protection feels good... that's another mod I have, online store that basically has all spec ops gear for sell. Use up your Corpo money at the beginning while in your office to kit yourself out before meeting Jackie.
More Vendors... interact with everything, Computer access anywhere.
Random Net Runners... make them a real challenge, they are dangerous as hell as they should be... like fighting Neo if you come across them.
Tougher NPCs... being the best is boring, finally beating the best is better gameplay or just run!
Weather mods to make the game more Blade Runner
Personally I have never gotten past ACT 1 yet... But now I'm finding my feet. Mostly testing mods for over 100hrs lol
Wish I could arrest people, I need to get my weapons Non Lethal then I will be an ex Corpo Intelligence Operator that captures bounties, steals intel, recovers property and poses as an Uber driver... pays the bills... literally lol
Night City Things is the mod Collection I used and added 20-30 other mods.
Compared to RDR2 though, the city and crowds are extremely bland in comparison no matter how many mods I try to add.
But making Night City into a Living Breathing hell that never pays enough is awesome.
