the different paths really don't make any difference besides a handful of unique dialouge options that lead to the same place anyway

Yeah the paths are a joke couldnt matter less. The clothing you pick probably matters more and you only see it in mirrors and menus.

The paths don't make a big difference, but in terms of unique dialog options, Nomad is the most boring. Dunno who lied to you about Street Kid being the most boring.

As the above folks mentioned. the starting points are largely window dressing; the most they amount to is a couple different side missions for each and different dialog options at times. Materially, they don't much matter, each is as good as the next.
If starting out as a street kid floats your boat, set sail.

Played all 3 Beginnings. It gives you some insight and Dialog Options, but seemingly not much more.
My Personal Ranking would be:
1. Corpo
2. Nomad
3. Street Kid

I think Corpo gives you the most, because it feels like it helps with the Mainstory, as you seem more competent.

Every Lifepath offers some unique insight into the world 6 months prior that doesn't really go anywhere, a unique quest that possibly has a unique reward, and some unique dialog which is usually worthless. There are some extra rewards for some lifepath dialog, but in other situations it actually makes matters worse.

There are a few other odd rewards but here is those unique quest/rewards

The Streetkid Lifepath gets the quest Small Man, Big Mouth were the same Fixer that got you (unintentionally) acquainted with Jackie promises you a big easy score. The quest's unique reward is... a jacket few people would be interested in.

The Nomad Lifepath gets the quest These Boots Are Made for Walkin' basically the locater beacon on the beater you drive into town on has turned on. The quest's unique reward is that car if you want it.

The Corp Lifepath gets the quest War Pigs... Basically your old friend Frank had ♥♥♥♥ hit the fan. You could play this quest nice, but if you want the unique pistol Apparition he needs to at best be neutralized which means no rousing pep talk.... except this pistol is now a part of the Phantom Liberty iconic vendor's wears so everyone can get it, and Frank can live.

Corpo DOES get you a dialog option that lets you bypass security in one bit where you're infiltrating an Arasaka facility.

If you like to imagine some backstory for your character, and especially if you like to know why they make certain choices, the path can make a difference. For me, streetkid feels the most natural.

I'd agree that corpo V has the best lines, and is a lot of fun, but I have to work hard to believe they'd take part in anything as dumb as the heist.

for me, i prefer the streetkid. it was the first one i played, and i started it because i rolled a streetkid in tabletop.
(was playing along this way when i didnt have the game)

when folks asked me which to play, i suggested

Nomad (for those who knew nothing about the game at all, because the player, learn along with the characer.)
then
Streetkid (for those who know a little about the game or the genre. those who've seen Johnny Mnemonic, Bladerunner ect, or know a little about the tabletop)
lastly
Corpo (for those who have played ether of the first two, or who have read the important books. those who played the tabletop already, or played Shadowrun instead. those who prefer to be snarky, sarcastic ect lol)

Whether a particular Lifepath is 'boring' depends on how you approach it. Although any particular lifepath doesn't change the overall course of the game, it does give you some unique interactions...it's not just 'dialogue choices'. Making those choices can lead to different outcomes and courses of action inside some of the gigs and jobs. If you only play through the game once, or just a few times, these differences aren't apparent.

Any path is worth play.

The lifepaths mean nothing, just adds some dialogue options in some situations and what kind of side job you'll get during Act 2, but doesn't change much else.

Corpo is the more interesting path, Streetkid is definitely the least. Bonus points for Corpo lifepath having V already know Jackie before the start of the prologue and giving Jackie a little more significance in V's life.

It is an opinion. I also find streetkid the most boring.

Played each life path until I finished "The Heist". Gives you an idea of each one. Personal choice: Corpo or Street Kid.
The paths were an utter disappointment, they could've just skipped that and spent more time adding fun features to the game like car customization.
