Cyberpunk 2077

Cyberpunk 2077

View Stats:
Blue Screen
I got the game new and after alt tabbing I received a blue screen, code:
0x0000000a (0x00000000000000f0, 0x0000000000000002, 0x0000000000000000, 0xfffff806c65ca33e)

After testing GPU, CPU and RAM, all those run perfectly fine. All drivers (including Windows 11), BIOS etc are up to date.

A BSOD is a non game related issue. Could be a software issue but the error codes indicate that it may have something to do with your hardware.

You might want to download Bluescreenview and share the log file so we can take a more specific look onto this matter.
Id also advise you to open a thread on the hardware sub to reach more people who could potentially help you.

The only extra info I could gather from BlueScreenView is ntoskrnl.exe+4b85d0
IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

I may add that the computer is rather new, bought and assembled in October 2024 and runs every test etc perfectly fine. Cyberpunk 2077 is the only time that I had any crash etc happen, though again, it did not happen directly in the game, but after alt-tabbing (I did get to be on the desktop for like 1-2 seconds).

Yeah, usually BSOD's are hardware related and while running the game may have brought up the blue screen, it most likely revealed your underlying problem rather than cause it.

What program did you use to run diagnostics for your GPU, CPU and Ram (if at all)?
You're not by any chance overclocking anything, are you? If your CPU or GPU is running too hot, they can actually bring up a BSOD.

Ensure you have adequate cooling because Cyberpunk really makes PCs run on all cylinders.
Not sure if you're running one now, but a temp monitor like MSI afterburner with Rivatuner (for NVidia gpus) can help you see your temps in real time as you play.

Hope you find a solution. :Catexec:

hmmm... I just read this after I made my reply..
That is strange...

EDIT: Yeah, see if you can monitor your temps while playing the game and if it does it again.

Well, we need at least a log file from your last BSOD to be sure, but just judging from what youve already wrote, could be everything from driver to hard drive or RAM modules?

You could run those commands for starters in that exact order and each by each. Open cmd with admin rights:
Dism.exe /online /Cleanup-Image /checkhealth
Dism.exe /online /Cleanup-Image /scanhealth
Dism.exe /online /Cleanup-Image /Restorehealth
sfc /scannow
Dism.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /AnalyzeComponentStore
Dism.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /StartComponentCleanup

Did it find something?

Would also be nice to know how exactly youve tested your hardware? I think this has been asked by another user already.
You may want to use Prime95 for your CPU, MemTest and Memtest86 for your Ram, CrystalDiskMark for your hard drive, 3DMark for your GPU and so on.
There is nothing more reliable then these tools but you need to run multiple cycles overs hours to get sure. Memtest only needs 1-2 cycles most of the time.

edit: Get sure to use default BIOS settings.

For testing hardware I usually use Furmark for the GPU, Intel Precessor Diagnostic Tool for CPU and MemTest86 for RAM. And I do not overclock, because I do not really think it is necessary for playing games (I am running a 4080 Super, i7 14700K and 64GB DDR5 RAM). When I build a PC I always stress test it for at least a week or two just to make sure that everything runs perfectly.

I honestly do not think it was necessarily the game's fault (though performance was just at about 38FPS at 5K (5120x1440 res), which is not great for that setup. Temps are fine (hitting about the upper 60°C, checked via MSI Afterburner and HWMonitor)

Game is very Unstable and crashing like crazy after the latest 2.2 update I noticed... Just what it is unfortunately... Sometimes Nvidia drivers are just borked out.

Debugger says that its a driver accessed paged memory at DISPATCH_LEVEL, which basically means its a software issue. This is caused most likely by one of your drivers.

edit:
If i had to point my finger onto something, Id say something Windows related than 3rd party.
