Thats probably what you're looking for
Overheat + weapons is a very fast way to kills enemies.
Aim for the head.
Get better tiers of weapons.
Get weapons that are all about high damage per hit, so you need less of them.
Install weapon mods that make your weapons do more damage or seek out iconics that effectively do the same.
Invest into skills that make your weapons better. Honestly that's probably the biggest one.
The Reflex stat increases crit chance while the Cool stat increases crit damage.
If they're standing next to a bright red canister, shoot that instead.
Invest into stealth, if they aren't a robot you can OHK them with a stealth takedown.
Jumping on top of them also works so long as they didn't see it coming, let's-a go
Stealth takedowns with weapons are also very effective, pistols and knives are basically god tier at that point. Youtube's drowning in videos showing how well that works.
A Cyberdeck can get pretty OP with the right investments of skills and upgraded quickhacks, the one called System Collapse will OHK anything that isn't an outright boss.
The Suicide quickhack is much the same, but way less subtle.
Cyberpsychosis is like the above, but even less subtle as they first do the job of fighting everyone else for you. Before they turn their gun 180.
If you can get your hands on the Militech Canto the Blackwall Gateway quickhack lets you wipe out whole groups in seconds.
There's a number of Chrome options that can help you do more damage with all sorts of weapons.
Even LMG has a purpose, and that purpose is to spray a lot of bullets to increase your chances of crits and dismemberments, which is why it has perks for movement, buffs from low stamina and a perk to refill your ammo on kills, because you're meant to run around holding down the trigger at point blank range.
no need to keep shoot untill they dead.
I also had the thingy that make a good electric explosion after a reload, just for the extra kick it gives,
Head shots can usually stop most enemies in their tracks, if not outright kill them, depending on your level.
You can also use the environment around you, setting off explosions to take out multiple enemies.
If you want to drop them quickly, without using any ammo, sneak up behind them and perform a non-lethal take down.
I carry a pistol for close range, a sniper rifle for longer range and a Katana for that up close and personal kill, each weapon has its good and bad points, although, a silenced pistol or sniper rifle can be deadly once you start to level up.
Kerenzi Shotgun instagib the vast majority of mobs with 2 shots.
So, yeah, there are builds who are plenty able to one/2 shot enemies... or zero shot, if you go full netrunner.
Two builds and playstyles that work for me are:
Pistols, often from stealth once it becomes viable. This is all about headshots, and once you get access to a sandevistan OS the build really starts to shine. A hard hitting silenced pistol for stealth use and a revolver for going loud: I like a standard Nue for stealth and an overture for when I don't care. Around mid game this will one shot most enemies.
Quickhacks, either from stealth or just charging in. By the time you get to the overclock perk you're already taking down multiple mobs at the same time. With speccing into perks that get better use from heath items, overclock and synapse burnout together take all challenge out of the game. Queue up synapse burnout on two or three enemies, wait a moment for them to drop, rinse and repeat. In about ten seconds that group of Barghest and VDBs fighting it out over an air drop are all zeroed.
There's a bunch of advice out there on these builds. They're both a little rough before level ten or so, but shine in the mid and late game.
