you can choose the expansion ending after finishing the dlc, OR you can choose to put that off and choose it again after meeting Hanako at embers (if you took that path, that is)
if you chose the other path in the expansion, you still have to meet her at Embers to move past the point of no return
So just to double check(thank you so much for replying btw), I can complete the dlc then go meet her at Embers to finish the game? Only reason im double checking is I heard that the best ending is with Panama and I really want to get that but also really wanna finish the dlc.
Depends on the path you take in the end of the DLC. Some choices will lead to the DLC's 'end', others will just funnel you back into the main game endings.
Yes.
You have to play through the main quest in act two until you finished your business in Pacifica (VDBs, one way or another). This triggers the start of PL (and opens the gates of Dogtown)
From there you can play through PL, and if you like finish the game. You can also continue on the normal base game content. Or switch back and forth to your liking.
You can even finish PL, then finish the base game (or the other way round), and in the end you´'ll have two missions left: Meet Hanko in Emebers (to pick one of the base game ending) or call Reed (to pick one of the PL endings).
The start of the end (Act 3) is always behind a 'Point of no Return'' message
