How Does Berserk Actually Work?
Specifically in-universe. Like, if V was mostly organic I could get some sort of combat-drug injector charging him up something fierce. But I don't think adrenaline really does as much for pure chrome. And most builds that'll use the highest-end Berserk with the 100% damage negation are practically full borg.

I get it almost certainly doesn't make you invincible in the fluff, too, but what's its actual lore function beyond amping up someones aggression? Does it inject you with nanites Revengeance style or something?

Good question: berserker system has been heavily reworked with the 2.0 update. Before that, it was a melee enhancer at most. After 2.0, it has become a source of temporary invincibility.
I tend to find the pre 2.0 as the more truthful in universe, basically a mix of reflex boosters and temporary limit removal for your cyberware: for a short time, you move faster and punch harder.
It has a cap to duration only because of the risk of cyber psychosis.

That sounds sensible, yeah.

Adrenaline is a hell of a drug.
