I bought the game when it first came out and refunded it right away and then bought it again on sale after patch 2.0 was released, steam only tracked my license for the game from original release and the re-purchase receipt is missing in my steam settings
I used to launch the game from the desktop shortcut and that is the wrong way to launch the game and time played and achievements weren't added from last year and I only started getting achievements and game time registered properly as played a couple months ago after I started launching from my steam library and my achievements added too and I need 20 more achievements to get a perfect game
I use the bypass launch option too --launcher-skip for the last two month's
Game.AddToInventory("Items.Q000_half_StreetKid", 1) added by CET console and was able to wear a banana and sunglasses also added by CET console
I have the valentino cross on but it didn't show, it uses the green vest to add the cross
I ended up adding one of his street kid outfits from the 6 month montage start out video cut scene
What outfit you start in it set by what background you picked. You picked the Streetkid option, so I'm not sure why you're surprised that your V is dressed like a punk from the streets.
If you're trying to convince everyone that you're "long played the game and are only 20 achievements from max despite what steam says" showing an image of a level one character doesn't help with that.
So just move past the prologue, which takes about 30 or so mins, and get into the game proper. After that you can dress your V anyway you like from the ever increasing number of options the game keeps throwing at you.
If that isn't enough options, speed your way to the "big job" that opens up the rest of the city.
If that isn't enough, speed your way to the opening of Dogtown.
Not to mention the clothing options you can get from certain side quests.
actually it was a mix of the mox look and Tyger Claws look and didn't properly represent a street kid look at all and a lazy put together outfit by the devs
there are Valentino outfits from the street kid glen area they could of given him, with skull's on the pants and several skull shirts , yes I know street kid isn't a Valentino gang member, but he/she can rep that look, like the full body Valentino tattoo you can wear that the game added
Steetkid V's prologue makes it clear they already tried to climb out of the city once, but just ended up falling right back in. They want more and are happy to (at least try) to leave the past behind. So their clothing choices also reflect this.
As you say, they from Valentino gang territory, yet they avoid wearing anything that looks directly like they do.
They're clothing choice is a mix of others seemingly randomly mashed together partly in an attempt to find their own look and more than likely also partly based on what they could afford or just get their hands on
The other two backgrounds also follow this trend. Just looking at the clothing they start the game in helps tells you what sort of a person they've been in their life so far before we "take over".
In all three cases when we first meet Jackie it also adds a distinct difference between how we look, to how he looks, further highlighting the sort of person he is compared to us at that time.
While V tried to get away from their past (a running theme with all three versions), he wears it as a badge of pride. V's looking to start a new life, he's got experience on how to get settled into one in Night City (certainly at the level we're now starting at).

V will do and not do things completely different than I, and I can't change that. I find it confusing why people think they're writing V's story. It was already written in parallel scripts, and we're just deciding which pre-written script we're going to see next. I think it's the lack of separation that I find confusing.
I'm not Lara, Roger, Cal, Kay, Nathan, V, Shepard, the Hero of whatever, Jesse, Dax, Vlad, Franklin, Indy, Amanda, Chell, or any of the others. What outfits are available are limited by the scripts and stories written by someone else if any are available at all.
This. You have some agency, but there's a lot about who V is that's "locked in". Kind of makes the game an....RPG Lite, IMO. You're playing a character, sure, but you're playing SOMEONE ELSE'S character. It's kind of like when a TTRPG DM does a one-shot with pregen characters. You control the character, but within the bounds that were already established for the character. V can't tell Jackie to F-off and not do the suicidal Konpeki heist. They can't refuse to slot in the chip when Jackie's dying. They can't ditch on the No-Tell after and go to find Evelyn. They can't say "F it" and go live out their last days in peace.
It's not exactly "on rails", but it's definitely a guided tour.
