Graphics settings assistance
I have a new gaming laptop (AMD7, Nvidia 4060, 16GB Ram).

I am new to the DLSS/Ray Tracing game (my last time I PC gamed was in 2016). With my recommended settings, what would you recommend for ideal performance (looking for smooth +60fps frame rate, without sacrificing too much visual fidelity).

If you don't want to use Ray Tracing: 1080p High Preset should do nicely without any upscaling. At 1080p even DLSS looks pretty bad and Ultra settings just don't provide any meaningful visual difference.

If you want to use Ray Tracing: I would recommend turning on the RT Reflections and RT lightning on medium with Quality DLSS still at high settings preset.

Both should provide 60+ FPS in the main game.

The DLC is much more intensive than the base game especially when it comes to VRAM so keep that in mind.

Without resorting to artificial frame generation, I'd start here:

Resolution: 1080P
Resolution Scaling: DLSS - "Quality" Preset
Ray Tracing (RT): Yes
RT Reflections: Yes
RT Sun Shadows: Yes
RT Local Shadows: Yes
RT Lighting: Psycho
Path Tracing: No
All other settings maxed out

In the game's benchmark tool (in Video/Graphics) I was able to get 60fps with max-80% GPU usage on my RTX 4090 Laptop so the 4060 should come close. If it struggles, start paring down the various RT features (I'd start with the RT lighting).

The new Nvidia app that got rid of Experience is pretty good at autosuggesting your settings and then you can tweak to your taste to get the best fps.

seriously? do you realise how big of a difference in performance there is between 4060 and 4090?

Dont ever use Nvidia's auto suggestion tool, please.

Turn auto optimise off. Its horrible. It doesnt take into account if you're using 1080 monitor or not and puts settings way to high for smooth gameplay.
