The character creator is really lame.

The only 2 flavors of male character you can make are some emo neon clown or an E-boy alpha male influencer bro. You can't have any odd skin colors or change the color of face tattoos or cyberware. I'm telling you I would PAY for a DLC that allows more facial tweeking and color customization.

you can still unlock her romance wth mods, even when you are female.

Mods are currently a no go for me until my new PC comes in. Currently I have to rely on GeForce Now to play the game, which doesn't play nice with modding unless the game has Steam Workshop or an in-game mod downloader. ( Except BG3, which it has blocked mod.io for some reason. :( I look forward to cancelling my GFN sub and telling them EXACTLY why )

I disagree, my first (and so far only) male character didn't come out looking like either a "emo neon clown" or a "alpha male influencer bro".
He came out looking like a normal, ordinary and nondescript office worker.
Corpo background, naturally.

By the end of the game he simply ended up looking like a well dressed, normal, ordinary and nondescript office worker. But now also with a hat and tie.

Didn't they release the stats that said most players have male characters? It was weird because most Vs on social media are female.

Wouldn't be surprised. What gets talked up online and what "general gaming public" do are frequently different. Mass Effect 3 stats, for instance - everyone online loved Jen Hale's FemShep. Overally stats was 80% maleShep (an awful lot of 'and the default settings', as well).


re: "it's 1st person, who cares what you look like" - well, you see V in the menu, and some people really love photo mode, too (there's *lots* of clothing, pose, and photo mods)

So was the main character in Saints Row 3 and 4, yet both those games had far more options in their character creators for both body and face. If I can't accidentally create a modern day Hapsburg, then the character creator is lacking.

You do have a point about the facial customization. It seems like you really cant change the overall shape of the skull much. Im ok with that though because you really never see yourself. I dont recall there being a way to change how fat or muscular you are either.
