Annoying video game trope
Why does it seem like in just about every single player open world rpg basically has you pull your weapon out of your ass/ out of thin air whenever you need it. ?? It's so immersion breaking

Yup 2077 when everyone has a high capacity cyberbutthole.

I stick to knives arm cyberwear like mantis blades or monowire and pistol or SMG on the assumption they are compact enough to sit under a jacket.

Bigger coat for SMG and nomad jacket for pistol.

Honestly in a locked first person perspective it can be a bit more forgivable, you can't even see all of your body, so is the holster on a part of you that you can't see in first person. Now for the non player characters in first person that is a bit harder to believe.

I think I said it was more immersion breaking for the other characters, or did you skim over the last sentence you quoted. As for the motorbike, it's no less immersion breaking than having access to your entire stash from the bike's cargo, at least a car has a bit of space for that stuff.

Considdering it's like this in 99% of the games i've ever played (i can think of very few that had some kind of visible holstering system, and even they usually woulden't take into account all the weapons you could be carrying, i mean you should basically look like the Iron Throne on legs with all the swords and other weapons you pick up to sell in Skyrim), i think you might just have to learn to cope with this one, and accept it as the "videogameism" that it is.

I know it's hard, but you just might have to swallow this one.

Forget it, Jake. It's vidyatown.

You can make the experience more realistic for yourself by only holstering pistols and knives.

Then bring your car with you, so you can open the trunk and get in your weapon stash and pull out a machine gun, sniper rifle, etc. Then store them back in trunk when you're done using them. If that's your thing, I'm not judging.

You can curate this level of immersion for yourself with some effort on your part.

When you curb your expectations to what is and isn't realistically doable in a video game with so much OTHER focus, its really HARD to get the immersion broken. This isn't a game issue, but a perspective issue.

There's also mods.

Such as Scorpion's tactical gear, which does include such things as thigh holsters for pistols, and a backpack you can append long guns to:

Of course, these are basically clothing items, so the guns aren't removed from the holsters when you unholster a weapon.

Where you are still carrying like 10 guns at any given time.

I always wonder how ppl have their "immersion" broken, when it has been like this for basically all the history of gaming... where did you actually store this immersion for all those decades to have it now broken by this one game that does it exactly the same way?

Nanomachines.

Because Cyberpunk is an iconic groundbreaking game that's still getting updates and DLC. People will be talking about Cyberpunk for decades, just like the "But will it run Crysis?" meme which is about 20 years old at this point.
