Official DLSS 5 Implementation.
I think it is great that there is so much going on with the 4.5 version, but with the version 5 mod arrival the cat is out of the bag now.

4.5 skipped and version 5 running now.

Have you seen the performance hit from DLSS 5 though? Saw one vid guy using an RTX 5080 testing it in cyberpunk he was running Ultra settings no RT he went from 115fps down to 40fps when he turned on DLSS 5... the performance hit from using DLSS 5 is bigger than the performance hit from using path tracing so unless you have an RTX 5080 or 5090 then for most people in most games it's not gonna be wroth it.
This is fantastic for old games with DLSS which can pump out very high fps already.

Or something very optimised such as Kingdom Come deliverance on the CryEngine and 2077 on REDengine.

UE5 might have a little problem here at the moment on anything else than high end systems. (likely a disaster)

There is huge potential and i am sitting here looking through my library trying to decide on what to implement it into.

Maybe i should play that mortal shell 2 game as it looks like it can run on a potato and add DLSS5. That would be interesting to play the next days.

Something tells me old games are getting a huge revival with this. And i also have a bad feeling that Nvidia GPU prices are going to explode even further now.

And the performance is far better than i expected after seeing the sneak peak months ago.

Game optimization is back baby! Developers will have to work hard on performance for this tech to be running in their titles.

Your framrerate is literally cut in half and everyone looks like old ladies with 40s mascara thanks to over pumping the normal strength, what are you even on about.
I think for this tech to really pass the test with games like Cyberpunk 2077, CDPR would have to be deeply involved and collaborate closely with Nvidia to develop customized effects of this neural technology, so it doesn't over reach and tamper with the developer's original vision.

The same thing can apply to other games as well. Perhaps custom profiles can be developed by the devs with more fruitful results rather than going in a "one size fits all" approach.
I mean, in one clip, it made Rita Wheeler look like she had real flesh skin rather than her trademark synthetic/plasticy skin. Things like that would have to be addressed.

It also made some characters (Panam in particular) look like they aged by at least 10 years, but I'm not sure if that's something that can be custom dialed in the settings. I'm assuming it is. I seem to remember a discussion over that fact with Nvidia devs.

At the moment, my understanding is that this tech is still in beta so it's not worth much for passing any serious judgement yet and should just take it for what it is at face value for the time being.
We can see that the tech is an absolute fps muncher. But then again, during it's first premier showcase, they used two 5090s at the same time just to run it.

We'll have to wait and see what it looks like once it's fully developed and optimized.
It's amazing tech without a doubt, but it has its work cut out for it, if they aim to capture the hearts and minds of those who are absolutely against anything generative/neural AI related whatsoever.

If this is left as a "one size fits all" feature without the ability to fix specific developer's creative visions, then I'd probably pass (if I even had the muscly computer needed to run it in the first place, that is. lol).

Many games including this one. Explained it pretty well with what i wrote.

What do you think about Rise of the Tomb Raider? I am adding that to the list of games to test this weekend with DLSS5. That was a pretty good game as far as i recall.

And it is much more than just faces this tech do.
LOL, here we go again. Private, minimal‑info profiles with no visible qualifications stirring up attention.
It's a very large leap in realism for Cyberpunk. I figure the optimizations will get it playable on a single 5090 by the end of the year but it will probably be the next generation of GPU's that can really fly with this tech. Just a guess, but I don't think most people will be happy with the performance on current generation hardware.
