What is it about Judy?
Spoilers.
I genuinely want to know what it is about Judy that people love, since I myself don't.
I have played as both female and male V, and I did all missions with Judy in both.
I don't feel that she cares about V in any way, all she does is ask for help with her own personal problems, and when she doesn't get her own way she whines and stomps her feet like a child. I felt that she is very obsessive in a creepy way, selfish and whiney.
At the end of the pyramid song mission, Johnny asks to leave, and I did.
And you never hear from Judy again, and let's put it this way, she doesn't know why you left, but she won't bother to call or ask, she just disappears.
I felt that most characters though don't really care about V, most just wants help from V.
I felt that the characters that actually cared was Panam and Johnny.
Let's also take Kerry for example, if you take him with you on the nomad ending,
he will refuse to go with you. And some people have said it's understandable because "he's a city person, has his music and career in the city" Yes, of course. But V is his partner, and is literally dying. Has 6 months left to live, Kerry can't take 6 months off the city for his partner who is dying? He can just go back to the city after. I just feel like most characters you meet are selfish. But if that's the idea, I get it. I mean, the whole story/game is sad itself,
there is no happy endings really and everything is pretty dark. And I enjoy it,
but it's just a bit disappointing with the romance options that doesn't care for you.
The rest reacts to your health/situation more like "Oh yikes that s*cks, anyways.."
But I have seen so much love for Judy. But I felt it was a drag to be around her.
So I genuinely want to know others opinions, what their reasons are for loving her.
Maybe I have missed something, not understood something.

It is a matter of connection, that you gain with them during the companion missions etc.
Personally I liked some of the others just as much or more. For me it also played a role in whom "my character" was. in terms of personality, gender, etc.
For me, I loved how romantic she is, especially during the final side quest. To add to that effect, you meet her early enough in the game to be able to develop such a bond. My only gripe is that she was kinda putting herself out there with some bad crowds, but I feel like her arc comes around quite nicely, especially if you do All Along the Watch Tower. Maybe I'm just a sucker for old school romances. C'est la vie.

Its an entirely emotional decision she makes after the death of a friend to make herself feel better.

That's one way of interpreting things.

No, it's what happened.
I can't stand Judy she whines about everything and ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ about every single little thing you do. If their was a kill Judy option i would do it xd.
The seriously need to add a Frodo Baggins romance in the game. Some little hobbit hanging around in the middle of the bar or something. Maybe have him follow you around as you do a quest to destroy a magic ring.
I'm in act 2 and I can't stand her. She's so hostile to me, I have literally never even met anyone in real life who is THIS toxic. Can't imagine ever wanting to date her, even if she was into men.
Ugh. I hear ya. I found Judy so insufferable I modded the game to have a romance with Panam instead for my second playthrough.
Panam is the same way, don't kid yourself.

Judy's just adorable, from her selfish tantrums, views, opinions to her god awful plans to effect change, i just want to hug her.
i agree they are both selfish little brats though, i just prefere judy,
panam ...everytime she speaks, rants is like nails across a chalkboard for me.
i would actually prefere to romance river, love the whole family thing going on there aswell ..but that cyber eye just creeps me out lol.

Judy is a gross trashy low class gutter tramp with disgusting tattoos who lives in abasement and makes pornographic brain dances for a living and has obvious substance habits and who knows what other issues. Panama is not much better and is a gross lowlife desert hag with violent tendencies and her own set of problems as well. Both are overflowing with obvious red flags that make then unsuitable as reasonable partners for anyone with half a brain.

Considering the different choices in background for V it is a shame we are stuck with these two losers when we could have romanced a classy, stylish, and professional beauty named Meridith Stout.

Just like in real life.
