i thought Judy was kinda cute. she grew on me over time, and i actually started to just ship my V with Judy.
i like Judy's style, also can't recall ever being annoyed by her.
i would of done the Panam romance but it is only available for a straight male V.
Panam never is really true to her word and childishly does want she wants when she thinks she is right. Just remember Vs first deal with Panam. The car and the cargo for her help. Did she hold onto this? No. Her personal revenge against Nash was more important than holding the deal. In the camp she basicly ignores her bosses orders end flames a rebellion against him. If it wouldn't have been for V, Panam might have caused the doom of her clan.
Judy on the other hand called you "walking corpses" at the beginning of the heist, still she helped her friend Evelyn despites not liking it.
After that she wants to know what happened to Evelyn and yeah, needs Vs help just like Panam needs it. But after knowing what happened she starts caring and worrying for the other dolls and tries to take steps to improve their situation, which is almost unrelated to her since Judy is a Mox. It turned out bad in the end, but clearly beyond hers and Vs grasps. But she did it for others.
Therfor I would vote for Judy if there would be a ranking who is the better person.
I see, I understand your view. I do agree that Panam is very childish in her ways as well and bossy, but I just simply felt she cared more for V wanting to help, even if she couldn't. I didn't feel that Judy even wanted to help or care. Everyone had their personal problems they wanted help with, and of course that is fine, no problems in that. I just felt like most characters didn't care about giving anything back.Specially Kerry, River and Judy. I guess I just felt most characters were a bit empty. But it is not mainly a romance game so I don't get hung up on it. I was just confused about why people love Judy so much.
Maybe it's just that, personal taste.
Judy even would have a reason to hate V because the heist failed which lead to Evys fate.
And Panam doesn't know this because she doesn't watch the news. The weather is the news for the nomad. The meeting with Panam was set-up and not a coincidence. Sometimes you need water under the bridge to find a middle ground and that's why there is a stronger bond with Panam, because she want to be there while V is only extracting information from Judy and felt most like part of the main mission than a side quest because of how her toy-doll (is)was a part of the main mission.
Evelyn Parker, that's the woman who we really do want to know about. Judy is depending on her Joytoy, clinging on it as a child to a mother. And even if Evelyn Parker is a reference to Blade runner we'll never see any sort of conclusion or revelation about the Joytoys, they're just robots. Concubine, dead walking automobiles. Used as messengers or any sort of target to be killed by assassins, so I see it like Judy got the value's worth since Evelyn only did what she was meant to be doing.
Then asking us to find out who tried to assassin her, well. You just doing a job for another client in return for the favor of using Judy's braindance gear.
And her relative innocence is really cute. Look up her NCPD sheet.
Although in a way I actually find it hard to get involved with her as she is basically a citizen and V is likely to bring only death and heartbreak to her life.
For my own personal taste and whom I would usually romance in a game, I found myself not wanting to romance anyone due to V's state of living but accidentally "connected" with Panam in the basilisk as the innuendo flew right over my head
But as to all of their reactions at the end and with each particular ending, I think a little more time could have been spent on lines and making each one feel fleshed out a bit more. I too thought it was jarring, some of their reactions.
Compared to TW3 there is also the issue about the whole romance stories being mostly encapsulated in their own quest-lines with very little totie them back into the main story. This is a little less true for Panam and Judy than Kerry and River.
Because of that, both Judy and Panam are a little more attractive to me than the other options because they just feel a little bit more part of your life than the others (though not as much as I would like.)
As for Judy over Panam, I like them both a lot. What I like about Judy is that she feels more complex and in that sense more real to me. She is a rebel at heart, but has all her defenses up. She can be snotty or hard as steel or vulnerable. You kinda get that she craves to be more open and is afraid to open up at the same time. I can relate to her conflicts, a lot.
