Period "Off Topic" Review 3 March 2022 to 20 September 2022
Is it not a bit too much that the period off topic has been from 3 March 2022 to 20 September 2022? All of the reviews from that time has been excluded from the review score. I'm talking of almost 7 months. Should not this be fixed?
Thanks!

I've been wondering the same thing for months. The game has stopped being review bombed quite a while ago, so there doesn't seem to be any reason to keep excluding all reviews from the aggregate. I imagine it might have reached higher than "mostly positive" if they would have started counting them again.

You have way too much time on your hands.

you mean by the fact that I realize this? well since the game is getting a come back I wanted to read the reviews and just notice this.

I was thinking about this after looking at the store page when the phantom liberty dlc was announced is it marked as off topic because of a review bomb or because the reviews talking about the anime count as off topic

Yeah, that is a really long time for it to be "off topic". But as far as "fixing" goes, that isn't up to us. I'm sure it's not a problem for their sales either, so it's just something we can ignore.

Though it is a bit interesting, nonetheless.

Steam Reviews - Review bombing / Off topic status since March 2022
I know it is mainly automated but since this March and the 1.5 patch this game has received a LOT of positive reviews. They fixed and added a lot of stuff (even more so now with the 1.6 patch). However, Steam flags all the reviews from March 2022 until today as "Off topic", so basically as review bombing. Which means none of it counts into the rating. How is this a normal thing to do?

It probably isn't but as it's already like this for half a year CDPR probably already tried to change this without success.

Until the *ahem*, "situation in Eastern Europe" ends the review bomb filter will stay.

If you've read the headlines lately, the "situation" shows no signs of stopping (it's actually intensifying if anything) so the filter is here to stay.

I hadn't considered that. But the thing is we can still see how many positive and negative reviews the game receives every day, and the positives FAR outweigh the negatives. And we can still read any of those reviews if we want to anyway, so I'm not sure what the filter is supposed to accomplish at this point.

I'm only providing a reason as to why the filter is there in the first place. I have no intention of trying to justify it and nor do I personally agree with any of it.

It isn't fair but such is the nature of warfare. The ones who suffer the most have always been the innocent.
