solved: CP2077 V1.52 - System Reset mod - did I just screw myself??
So I wanted to get this mod; I read an online note that I could go to the point where I first came back to life, visit Dexter's body, then open the fridge and get something from there, which would launch a certain quest (I'm trying to avoid spoilers here)...

So I went and did all this, but nothing happened... turns out that I need to complete a couple of other quests before doing this... so later I went to complete those quests... I now have System Reset available in my crafting menu, but I need the related component... so I went back to Dexter's body and the fridge, but I can't do anything here now; the fridge is already open, I cannot interact with anything...

Is there some way to reset this process?? Or did I permanently destroy this option by doing things out of order??

//*********************************************
Later note: nevermind, not an issue... it was available from a quickhacks vendor, once I had done the other things...

You get the legendary crafting schematics. That is done after you do the quest for system reset. You need to do a few quest before that schematic one become available. The one quest that gets you the hack needs to be completed first. It should give you the purple version. You should be able to complete the quest for System reset as soon as you start act 2. I think the quest action choice that you make at the end of the quest decides if you get it or not. You can always put points into Intelligence and learn to craft all hacks.

I have not done any of the gigs from the afterlife's cyberguy and I have system reset.

Also, when you are eligible for the guy near Dex, I won't name him, you can close and open the fridge again and you can get the deck.

Yeah, I would have thought I could close the fridge, but I couldn't find any way to do so!! I walked all around the device, moving cursor to different positions higher and lower (as is so often needed in this game), but never got any way to interact with it... very odd...

As I said, once you can do the gig you can close the fridge and reopen it, then the gig makes you close it then reopen it again.

System reset is over rated anyway. Costs a lot of ram to use and it only knocks out 1 enemy for 15 seconds. Not a very useful quick hack for most situations.

If you use the Tetratronic Rippler then it cost 3 less ram and knocks out 2 people.

Yeah that's the deck I use. Forgot it adds the extra person. But it still only knocks em out for 15 seconds and then they get up shooting. I'd rather use overheat and just take em out. Less ram and more permanent effect. Or contagion to take out a whole group of enemies. Tried system reset a few times and was underwhelmed by it. There's far better quick hacks to use. Unless for some specific reason you don't want to kill the enemy and maybe just want to get past one or two lone guards.

I just use contagion on big groups and hide but make sure you breach them first, it's fun when it spreads and then the person you used it on first gets it on them again.

It sounds like you are thinking Memory Wipe. System Reset is almost like a silent and non lethal Suicide hack. I have never seen then get back up. System Reset Is actually the only hack that you can get sort of get leveling XP from after using. It knocks them unconscious then if you finish them off, you can still get leveling XP.
