I'm running a blade build and am tempted to pick it up. But is it true that you can't even do the most basic hacking with it? I'd be okay with not being able to do most of it because, yeah, you can't have the best of all worlds, but ping for example?

Is it true? And should I do it anyway?

In the vanilla game you can only equip either a cyberdeck or the sandevistan. You need a cyberdeck to do any hacking at all. However if you get a mod called SystemEX you can install a cyberdeck and either a Sandevistan or berserk.

Thanks. Would a mod like this affect my performance? Maybe a stupid question, but I'm asking because I'm already on the low end.

At the moment I have no problems killing people with my blades so trading sneaking options off for even better killing doesn't seem too appealing. Maybe upping the difficulty would change that.

Haha, yeah I know. I already did the hacker path and really wanna be more aggressive. But a few options like shutting of cameras would be nice. Sometimes I like to sneak. But whatever.

SystemEX mod won't affect performance in any way, it will only add a second slot for another OS cyberware. I play with this mod myself on 1060 6, using Militech Falcon sandevistan and cyberdeck, just for basic hacks such as ping. Also melee build, no problems. I would also recommend better melee mod, it'll fix kerenzikov and sandevistan for blades (and firearm, optional), so that you will have the same attack speed as you normally would (no slowing down, good for Jinchu-Maru katana with 100% crit chance in kerenzikov). Better melee also fixes early sandevistan ending when you perform finishers.
