Anyone knows if the Lifepath you choose affect the look of the gear you scavenge in the game?
Hello, As the title says:

Anyone knows if the Lifepath you choose affect the look of the gear you scavenge in the game?

I choose the nomads and every gear drop I get or find makes my male V look like an imbecile. Like a hat with rabbit ears, or a little dress or a skirt, a Rambo band with a girl pony tail, etc, etc. Is that on purpose? Are you supposed according to cyberpunk RPG lore to look like that? I see charachters walking in the game with amazing gears but you cant have one?

I still remember playing Witcher 3, every gear you found looked amazing. What happened to the team at CDP red?

Only things that changes when choosing a lifepath is the beginning of the game and the clothing you start with before entering the main game and also the conversations you have with people.

Lifepaths don't do a damn thing in this game.

lifepaths only gives a unique mission, start, dialogues, and a piece of gear or vehicle unique to the specific lifepath.

ex: nomad = unique car, streetkid = unique jacket

I've done a Corpo and a Nomad playthrough...they throw up the same kinds of gear. There is a lot of goofy stuff floating around, but with a bit of progress you will have a nice selection of stuff to dress your character in. There is a distinct lack of t-shirts and good-looking headgear I find...esp. when the hats and whatnot do weird things to your carefully chosen hairstyle.
There is that Achievement for using 10 Life-path dialogue-options, during the game. As I have just-bought the game, and LOVE IT, SO-FAR!, I have not, yet, encountered any of those options, but that is something to notice if you want the Achievement.

The real thing that determines clothing options seems to be what enemies you face. Although it may still seem random at times, I've noticed that Tyger Claws are more likely to drop Asian-themed items, 6th Street and the mercs have more militant gear, etc. So if you find yourself looking like you fell into the dumpster behind a Goodwill, try going after different enemies.

Also, the clothing store location helps. Stores in nicer parts of town will have nicer clothes.

Thank you guys for the replies.

So later on I will be able to look like a net runner if I attack them and go into clothing stores I will find those orange gear that look like netrunner have on them?

If you look hard, you can find Legendary Netrunner gear. I've found pants and shoes so far...

Yeah, just keep your eyes open. There's plenty of good gear out there, but I usually end up finding it by wandering around.

it does not.

Gear matters only for build, I think.

Doesn't matter where you started out, if you netrunning, you want the gear that make your breach faster etc. etc.

BUT, you can always full on Paris Fashion Week (especially at late chapter 2, when you reach certain level when your build start to come together) and just use gear that looks good.

I always go Paris Fashion Week.

the clothing is a mixed bag in this game. most pieces look fine by themselves (except most headgear) but cdpr thinks its cool to have a loot shooter loot system not only for guns but also for clothing which makes it so you are always running around as if a thrift shop exploded into your face. its hideous.

Thats good to know thx. Thanks for all the replies btw.

Lifepath adds some flavor to the introduction of the game, flavor to certain dialogue options in the main game, and finally it offers you some specific lifepath side quests.

So although its relatively minor those details help add some flavor to the character you play.

Tech attribute is pretty good option for crafting stuff at least 5 points will get you by in the early game, if you go full tech you get all the crafted clothes, weaps, cyber mods. Tech supports tech weapons too.

For Nomad Look, in act 2 head over to the badlands there is a clothing vendor there with some Nomad clothing. Also crafted gear has some cowboy options....Nomad gear has about 3 options cowboy, biker, or rally gear.

Street Kid,
Punk, Ganger, and uh hooker I guess

Corpo
Suits/Formal Dress, Street Sammi,

Crafting gives you more options and if well keeping stuff up to top tier matters you can upgrade the stuff you have easily by spamming target analysis for the eddies you need to buy enough component parts to upgrade anything.

There are hidden gear sets in the game as well but honestly use a guide cause chances of finding that stuff is really unlikely unless you walk everywhere in the city and look at every nook an cranny.
