There is a fix in the works, which will be available soon:
https://www.tomshardware.com/pc-components/cpus/intel-finds-root-cause-of-cpu-crashing-and-instability-errors-prepares-new-and-final-microcode-update
(btw, isn't temperatures like that pretty normal for Intel CPUs at high load?)
I was using a i7-12700K temp max was 50 degree maximum (btw that CPU was not high in performance)
i9-14900KF is my first High performance CPU (i don't hear my pc loud in ventilation, no crash in game, no spike, no freeze all are clean no blue screen no crash it's run smooth)
tryed with 2watercooling, a medium, coolmaster 240, and the artic freeze 3 360 and same temperature
maybe i'm worried about temperature, but i forget it's a monster in power consumption and 81 is goood
internet telling cpu in heavy load can reach 80-85
(BEFORE PURCHASE I KNOWED THE 13/14th gen problem)
i know some ryzen reach much more, but just want to know if it's safe
just want to know if i can keep it at 81 or i have to change watercooling other ways pc temperature aren't high at all only the cpu
first pc build.
intel to 13/14th gen give 2year more warranty if we have issue
i think so i high temperature is normal, i see youtube people test in cyberpunk can reach 85-90 and no any issue performance aren't reduce... so i have to be not stressed by it... maybe
btw thanks you !
all is uptaded , i upgraded the watercooling specially for it so confused maybe it's normal and Paranoia of temperature
but thanks you <3
I did a search for "i9-14900KF temperature" and found this. Not sure if it's helpful since it's quite old, but good luck!
https://community.intel.com/t5/Processors/Temperature-i9-13900KF/m-p/1451120
Apparently this should make the CPU not exceed 75C under load, if I understood it correctly.
(and now I notice it's for the 13900KF, so I suspect it's worthless info anyway, sorry...
(No it's okay it help to understand 13/14th have same issue 13900 and 14900 ar so maybe temperature are normal 75C due to lower performance than 14900K ? and switching for a i7-12700K temperature was low maximum because not heavy cpu to i9-14900KF more hot because more powerfull ? sound logic but maybe i miss something for temperature
stress test cpu it's telling all is passed and fine,
btw intel give 2year warranty more, they know the issue can be high temperature but cpu is not affected by performance down,
youtube test, same as me cyberpunk some people reach 85C max, im a 81C maybe it's okay and paranoia
because in normal way, in desktop it's 35-40C so i don't think i can do better and cpu have the issue temperature or high temp because asking a lot of power
btw intel just telling if it don't reach 100C it's absolutely fine , but internet telling 80-85 in high load, and other telling 70-75 or it's going to "kill CPU in future "
who i have to believe ? xD
I don't see your specific CPU there (probably test is too old), but it might give an indication of what to expect when playing:
https://www.techpowerup.com/review/amd-ryzen-7-7800x3d/25.html
The only situation where my cpu reaches 80 degrees and above is when compiling shaders in some games.
I think it's ok to run at 80 degrees, but I don't know if it's normal to reach such high temperatures when playing this game.
This game is not that cpu intensive for a 14900kf. Not even close to the same cpu but my 13600kf highest i've ever seen in game was 64c except when cpu stress testing. That was in the menu and at 536fps.

Use the ingame setting to Prioritize P-cores as well. In game playing i'm at 52c or so. Below is me using OCCT cpu stress test plus playing the game. It used to run at 82C now it's at 70c. Game ran shockingly smooth during the cpu stress test. I've also tried running 3 games at once with same results. These 13th and 14th gen cpus are amazing.

Not that it matters but i'm still using the older bios and no i do not suggest using an older bios. I just have the settings correct now. 153watt limit i believe and locked multi and other stuff i can't recall. Using a non compatible Kraken 240mm aio that i modified. Same aio i was using on my 13 year old i7 2600k cpu. Note i'm also using a Thermalright or Thermal Grizzly cpu contact frame for a flatter cpu heatsink to water cooler surface. I know they help. But i've no idea by how much it's helped me. Never did a before/after comparison on my system. But should be a 2-5c difference.
Also i've no idea what your water cooling settings are. I typically set my pump at 100% constant. I then set a fan curve for the radiator to something that makes sense for my cpu.
Regarding the temperature chart I linked to above, I see they're using 'Noctua NH-U14S' for cooling. I looked it up, and it seems that it's a 'normal' CPU fan, and not a water cooled system, so the temperatures are probably higher than what to expect using water cooling.
Not sure, though. The fan is apparently pretty good, judging from the hits I found on it.
(sorry for hijacking the thread a bit. I'll go away now
Settings is 1440p, "psycho" with the graphics unlock mod and path-tracing.
Noctua is probably the best aircoolers out there.
81 degrees is fine with the 14900KF, it gets really really hot. Thermal throttle is around a 100 degrees. You can update your bios and maybe undervolt it by 0.5 volt, that works wonders.
Let the CPU do it's thing and trust your cooler. There are so many safeguards in the CPU that it will not get too hot. You can't just say "Oh, it hits 65 degrees under heavy gaming, which is perfect" anymore. This is not how newer Intel CPU's are made.
Do check if your motherboard vendor has made a new bios to address some of the problems Intel's newer CPU generation has also.
for instance my cpu (ryzen) mostly stayed around 50-55, and could spike up to 70 at some point. I didnt like it so I undevolted it in pbo and lowered max temp limit, now when im gaming my cpu never goes hotter than 50 without any real difference in performance
i also wouldnt recommend takin videos too serious, in most videos my cpu ran at ~70 in games that i play and none of em videos mentioned what type of cooling system they got goin on, as u can see the difference is huge in my case
