wtf cd project rekt

at least I was able to play this trash before. now after the last update I wanted to give it another chance , but I doesn't even launch anymore !
I get the error side by side config is incorrect and based on what I have searched online it is related to Micorsoft Visual C++ ,So I removed all the versions and installed all the packs again , no use , followed 3 other fix methods online , still no use
I have no problem with running other games on the same device , or the witcher 3 that is using the same game engine
Now I am pretty sure the last update caused this issue and yet I can't do anything but to wait for another patch , CD project red are just the worst developers ever. every patch they release is like killing a spider with a Dynamite , makes everything worse , I am so disappointed.

Other then reseting my windows entirely I did all other methods in this guide . I am currently playing 23 other games and have played countless others that I have uninstalled with no problem on the same device and same version of the windows .
I even tried re-rolling the gpu drivers to the same version I used to play cyberpunk before this update , updated it and my windows.. and other basic stuff like re-installing the game , using other download regions , verifying game files . can't get the trash running. I've wasted all this morning on this and to be honest writing this out of desperation.

Same here, ever since 1.31 I can't play at all. No problems, game never flatlined once before this patch. Tried everything except for resetting Windows. I like the game and can't even play it. Really really dumb and frustrating

You and OP should consider ticketing Steam to give you refunds. I know for both of you that refund period is over, but if you have tried all the troubleshooting you can do I would think you would be elegible for a refund.

How strange, have you updated your drivers OP? What are your specs?

Runs fine on windows 11. Runs fine on whatever Geforce Now uses.

If the problem is that it crashes/flat lines at launch that is a game file thing and that happens, I even had that problem almost every update, verifying the files to see if any files are missing than again, that normally helps/fixes that problem.(google it)

I have verified game files and did a clean re installtion using a different download region. didn't solve the problem. thank you for your comment

Sounds like something is corrupted. I wouldn't bother reinstalling the OS just for a game, no matter how good it is. Have you tried running the file system checker?

Open a command prompt as admin and run `sfc /scannow`

well I did the same mistake as many people falling for their good reputation after witcher 3's success and their marketing strategy , it was the first and the last game I've ever pre-ordered and despite all the negative reviews I held hope and came back after each update and patch to get even more disapointed . I have played the game for somewhat of 30 hours in general and the other 30 hours looking for mods and other fixes that provided by the playerbase while keeping the stupid red launcher open, unfortunately steam has counted that as playtime and I couldn't get a refund because of it.

I guess there might be a third party application uncompatible with the game running on the background , but It is up to developers to run necessarily tests and check compatibility for each patch , I am not gonna disable/unistall every application I use on my pc to do their work for them. I tried without my vpn / msi afterbuner / rivatuner / discord and obs , achieved nothing

Then I'm out of ideas. This has always been a problem with PC gaming. There are so many possible combinations of hardware and software that as a dev you simply cannot test for every single one of them. Your system atm is a very edge case as there are very few people not being able to run the game at all.
